Port Stephens Whale Cruise and Dunes Package | New South Wales

Join Moonshadow TQC onboard our 2.5-hour Whale Watching cruise venturing out to the ‘Humpback Highway’ during the northern Whale migration during May-November.

You will never forget seeing the awesome bulk of a humpback whale, up to 18 metres long and weighing 40 tonnes! Being the most surface active of all the whales, you may see spectacular displays – spy hops, pectoral slaps, body rolls and … the breathtaking breach. Enjoy entertaining and informative commentary and the cruise includes bonus dolphin and outer island cruising – two cruises for the price of one! With great viewing decks (both inside and outside), you can be sure you are getting the best view of these friendly giants. A fully licensed bar is available on board for beverages and snacks.

Port Stephens enjoys the most excellent whale season and the mighty Hinchinbrook Explorer catamaran will help you enjoy this! With approximately 2.5 hours out on the water, you are sure to enjoy a beautiful experience of whale watching and wildlife sightings!

Cruise out past Tomaree and Yacaaba headlands in search of the majestic Humpback whales as they migrate close to Port Stephens. You won’t forget the sight of a 40-tonne whale propelling itself skyward and crashing back into the ocean. Being the most surface active of all the whales, it is highly likely that you will see spectacular displays - spy hops, pectoral slaps, body rolls and ... the breathtaking breach.

Cruise to the Outer Islands with the chance of also seeing huge pods of oceanic dolphins (100 to a pod), offshore sea birds and other species of whale including pilot, minke and brydes. This 30-meter (100-foot) length catamaran provides you with a very comfortable and safe journey. It has full walk-around decks for viewing and large air-conditioned indoor areas. Enjoy tea and coffee, and entertaining and informative commentary.

Our 4WD buses will transport you up into the high dunes. We will teach you how to safely sandboard on the largest coastal dune system in the Southern Hemisphere.
Our priority is your safety and to ensure your sandboarding adventure will be a joyful memory not to be forgotten.
Not only do we offer fun, exciting and safe family-orientated sandboarding adventures (our most popular activity!) on top of the highest dunes, but we also offer beach and dune tours to Tin City, and educational tours for school students.All vehicles are accommodated by a friendly driver who is qualified and complies with Ministry of Transport requirements. The driver holds a Senior First Aid certificate and has endless knowledge and experience with the dune ecosystem at Stockton Beach.

• Our instructors are on hand to answer any questions about the Stockton Sand Dunes.
• Our 4WD buses will then take your group back to the Birubi Beach starting point
