Transportation

Sydney Opera House - Welcome Centre

Visit our Welcome Centre to check in for your tour. The Welcome Centre is open daily will be open daily from 8:45 am to 5 pm (excluding Christmas Day and New Year's Eve). Please check in 20 minutes prior to the tour.

Please note that between Tuesday 16th December 2025 and Tuesday 3rd March 2026, all Asian Language Guided Tours will depart from the Covered Concourse Level, Meeting Points 8, 9 and 10. 3 dedicated departure points will be set up near the wall between the Joan Sutherland Theatre stairs to the Box Office and Utzon Room escalator.

Please read the following important instructions:

Check-in:

  • Upon arrival, all FIT customers must check in at the Welcome Centre Tour Desk at the Lower Concourse Level.
  • Please provide the accurate SOH Order Number for check-in.
Bag Cloaking:
  • Please advise customers to leave their backpacks or bags larger than A4 size on the bus or at the hotel, as we have very limited space available for cloaking.

Self Drive:

The Sydney Opera House Car Park, operated by Wilson Parking, is open and available to use. Wilson Parking offers discounted parking if you book ahead. Please see their website for details.

Public Transfer

Please check the Transport NSW website for information. You can catch public transport (bus, train, ferry) to Circular Quay and enjoy a six min walk to the Opera House.

Things to Note

  • All fares are inclusive of GST in AUD.
  • Due to a large number of visitors, please provide 2-3 alternative time slots at the time of booking. The confirmed final time will be sent to you.
  • Admission is free for children under 4 years old. Children aged 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times
  • This tour may not be suitable for travellers with reduced mobility, as the tour contains at least 200 steps up and down stairs
  • To ensure the quality of experience, please be reminded that guests need the ability to understand the chosen guided language. No refund will be applied if guests fail to comprehend
  • Concession Card Discount: Valid Australian Student or Senior Card required.
  • Please arrive at the designated location 15 mins before departure, as the tour will depart on time
  • Meal is not included for children under age 4
  • Please arrive at the meeting point 15 minutes before your selected time slot and leave your personal items and belongings at the counter. It is not advised to bring large luggage, as storage services for anything larger than an A4 sheet of paper are not available
  • Passengers who fail to arrive before the meeting time will be classed as no-shows without any refund
  • Actual venues visited are dependent on the Sydney Opera House performance schedules
  • Please ensure your mobile phone is turned off or put on silent during the tour
  • Photography and video recording are not allowed in the Sydney Opera House. The tour guide will inform you of certain areas where photography is permitted
  • It is advised to wear appropriate attire along with shoes suitable for walking, as the tour contains at least 200 steps, including stairs

Cancellation Policy

10% surcharge if change or cancel after order is placed. No refund if cancel within 7days.
Noticed: If you would like to cancel, please kindly email us to cancel the tour at least 2 business days prior to this cancellation period. Once cancellation is confirmed, you will receive your refund within 7-28 business days.
Cancellation notification needs to be formally replied receipt by us during our office hours as acknowledgement.

NOTE: FIT TRAVEL would adopt suppliers' cancellation policy. Cancellation fees, if any by the suppliers, will be charged according to the supppliers' cancellation policy ( FIT TRAVEL does not charge additional cancellation fees ).
With this specific product's cancellation policy, the suppliers reserve the right of final interpretation.
If your order only pays the deposit of a product: a, if the product has available seats on the departure date and price and contents are the same as the order you placed, the booking would be confirmed by us without additional notification to you, and the deposit is not refundable. b, if the product has no available seats or price or contents are not the same, we might provide alternative options. If you do not agree with the options, the deposit is refundable.
