Operating Hours: 8:30 AM to 4:45 PM. Departures every 15 minutes.

• Last departure from Smithfield Terminal: 1:15 PM.
• Last departure from Kuranda Terminal: 3:30 PM.

Booking:

• Choose between a one-way Skyrail journey up or down the mountain.
• Default Skyrail departure from Smithfield is 9:55 AM if no preference is specified.
• Check for closure dates.

• Offers panoramic views of Barron Gorge and the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area.
• Stops at Red Peak and Barron Falls for rainforest exploration.
• Smithfield Terminal: Access via Skyrail bus transfer or free parking.
• Red Peak: rainforest walk.
• Barron Falls: Lookout and Interpretation Centre.
• Kuranda Terminal: Near Kuranda Railway Station, short walk to Kuranda village.

Kuranda Scenic Railway Gold Class

Thousands of species of plants and hundreds of unique creatures inhabit this lush green world. The famous Kuranda Scenic Railway winds its way on a journey from Gimuy (Cairns​​) via Bub​undji (Freshwater), to Ngunbay (Kuranda), the village in the rainforest. Rising from sea level to 327 metres, the journey to Kuranda passes spectacular waterfalls and into the stunning Barron Gorge.

• Cairns Railway Station: The starting point for Kuranda Scenic Railway.
  
• Freshwater Railway Station: The first stop, and most popular tourist departure point for Kuranda Scenic Railway.
  
• Jungara: Features a 180 degree bend with a five chain (100.58m) radius curve.
• Stoney Creek Falls: The bridge is the most outstanding feature of the railway line.
• Robbs Monument: A rock formation that was left during the building of the railway as a monument to John Robb.
