Travel from Hobart to Launceston in 1 day via Wineglass Bay & Freycinet National Park. An action-packed day tour, with sensational scenery, Great Short Walks and many scenic stops along the way, including the world-famous Wineglass Bay and Tasmania’s stunning East Coast.

Departing Hobart, the journey begins by heading east before following Tasmania’s scenic coastline northward. Travel through the charming seaside towns of Orford and Swansea en route to Freycinet National Park — one of the state’s first National Parks, celebrated for its breathtaking coastal landscapes. Towering pink granite mountains form the backdrop to secluded bays, crystal-clear waters, white sandy beaches, abundant wildlife, and superb walking trails.

Upon arrival, the group sets out on a moderate uphill walk to the iconic Wineglass Bay Lookout — a 45-minute trek rewarded by one of the world’s most photographed views. Take in the sweeping vistas across Wineglass Bay and Freycinet National Park while your guide assists with capturing the perfect photos. This walk is one of Tasmania’s Great Short Walks and requires a good level of mobility and general fitness. The walk is approximately 1.3 km uphill, followed by a return descent.

For those keen to explore further, there’s the option to continue to Wineglass Bay Beach — a 2.5-hour return walk. Enjoy free time on the beach to swim, unwind, eat lunch, or stroll along the powdery white sands.

Alternatively, if you prefer a shorter walk, rejoin the tour guide to explore other highlights of the park. Visit Honeymoon Bay, Sleepy Bay, and take in the sweeping views from Cape Tourville Lighthouse via another one of Tasmania’s great short walks.

We then re-group for the return drive north. A final stop is made at the picturesque Devil’s Corner Winery, where you can soak in the panoramic views of the East Coast. Wine tastings, wood-fired pizzas, fresh seafood, oysters from Freycinet Marine Farm, and artisan ice creams are all available for purchase (own expense).

The tour concludes in Launceston, with an estimated arrival time of approximately 6:00 pm.

We offer a wide range of door-to-door pick-up and drop-off locations. If your accommodation is not within our designated list, you will be picked up from a central Hobart location and dropped off at a central point in Launceston.
