Tour Information

Step aboard Maureen or Bluebird Vessels and enjoy a 90-minute wildlife sightseeing cruise departing from Queenscliff. This relaxed experience is perfect for families, couples, or travellers short on time, offering the chance to explore Port Phillip Bay’s rich marine life without getting in the water.

Cruising through the southern reaches of the bay, you may encounter a variety of wildlife, including:

  • Australian fur seals
  • Dolphins such as Burrunan, bottlenose, and common dolphins
  • Little penguins
  • Whales (seasonal sightings of humpback and southern right whales)
  • Seabirds including gannets, albatross, and storm petrels

The tour also includes a visit to Pope’s Eye within the Port Phillip Heads Marine National Park, with informative commentary from your experienced crew throughout the journey.

During winter months, lucky guests may witness migrating humpback whales along the Victorian coastline.

Each tour is adapted to the day’s weather and sea conditions to provide the best possible wildlife viewing experience.

  • All prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD)
  • Itinerary may be adjusted depending on weather and sea conditions
  • Wildlife encounters are not guaranteed and depend on natural conditions
  • No age restriction for this tour; participants have ranged from 2 years old to over 80
  • Prams and strollers are not recommended (please contact in advance if required)
  • Minimum numbers apply:
    • Maureen: minimum 6 participants
    • Blue Bird: minimum 3 participants
  • Dolphins are wild animals and sightings are not guaranteed (approx. 80% success rate)
  • All interactions follow strict wildlife protection guidelines
  • Tours operate in relatively sheltered waters; transfers between snorkelling sites are approx. 20 minutes
  • Tours may be cancelled or modified if conditions are unsafe
  • Guests prone to seasickness are advised to take motion sickness medication 30 minutes prior to departure
  • Seasickness bands are available for purchase on site
  • Alcohol consumption is not permitted until all snorkelling activities are completed
  • Sharks exist in Australian waters, but are rarely a concern; no incidents have occurred since operations began in 1996
  • Light refreshments and drinks (including hot and soft drinks) are provided on board Maureen
  • Please advise any dietary requirements or allergies in advance
  • If travelling via ferry from Sorrento, please allow sufficient transfer time
  • Onboard facilities:
    • Maureen: toilet available
    • Blue Bird: no toilet available
  • Check-in is required 15 minutes prior to departure
  • Late arrivals (more than 10 minutes) or no-shows will forfeit the booking with no refund
  • During peak season (December–February), please allow an additional 30 minutes for travel time due to traffic

Cancellation Policy

10% surcharge if change or cancel after order is placed. No refund if cancel within 3days.
Noticed: If you would like to cancel, please kindly email us to cancel the tour at least 2 business days prior to this cancellation period. Once cancellation is confirmed, you will receive your refund within 7-28 business days.
Cancellation notification needs to be formally replied receipt by us during our office hours as acknowledgement.

NOTE: FIT TRAVEL would adopt suppliers' cancellation policy. Cancellation fees, if any by the suppliers, will be charged according to the supppliers' cancellation policy ( FIT TRAVEL does not charge additional cancellation fees ).
With this specific product's cancellation policy, the suppliers reserve the right of final interpretation.
If your order only pays the deposit of a product: a, if the product has available seats on the departure date and price and contents are the same as the order you placed, the booking would be confirmed by us without additional notification to you, and the deposit is not refundable. b, if the product has no available seats or price or contents are not the same, we might provide alternative options. If you do not agree with the options, the deposit is refundable.
