Early Morning | Uluru Return

Internationally acclaimed artist Bruce Munro is noted for his immersive site-specific installations that employ light to evoke emotional response, often in an outdoor context and on a monumental scale. His Field of Light, inspired by a trip to Uluru over 30 years ago, is installed in a remote desert area within sight of the majestic Uluru. It is his largest installation to date, with Munro and his team installing more than 50,000 slender stems crowned with radiant frosted-glass spheres. It is truly a magical sight to behold.

The Field of Light
Rise with the birds and visit the kaleidoscopic art installation in the desert, the Field of Light. Your Driver Guide will provide insights and background into this emotive and unique desert art installation. Under the cover of darkness, you’re invited to wander through the pathways that encompass the 50,000 spheres of light in colours of ochre, deep violet, blue and gentle white.

Private dune top viewing
Make your way up the hill to the dune-top viewing area. Watch the amazing transformation of colours and life as the Red Centre awakens, while enjoying tea, coffee or hot chocolate.

Sunrise over the Red Centre
You’ll have an incredible view through the stunning desert landscape as the sun rises over the Red Centre. As the natural light brightens the landscape, the Field of Light will dim for the day. Capture some amazing photos from this unique raised location, which allows you to view both Uluru and Kata Tjuta in all their natural glory.

* Please note that the Field of Light Site is dimly lit, we highly recommend you use your phone light or bring a small torch to help navigate yourself on the pathway.*

Transportation

Departs : 105 minutes prior to sunrise from Ayers Rock Resort
Returns : 30 minutes approximately after sunrise to Ayers Rock Resort
Flight Information: Apr-Sep: Flights to depart Ayers Rock after 1:30pm. Oct-Mar: Flights to depart after 12:45pm. If you like to catch Flight after tour.
Please note: Departure & Return times vary throughout the year due to different sunrise times.

  • Please have a Day Pack ready to go which includes the following items - Appropriate walking shoes, hat, sunscreen, warm jacket during the cooler months & a minimum of 1 litre of water.
  • What to Bring  : Warm layers in cooler months, Water bottle to hold 1 litre,  Cash if purchasing Aboriginal artwork, Sunglasses, sunscreen and hat, Flynet in summer months (optional), Enclosed walking shoes

    - Guests with low level of mobility will be offered alternative route to view this experience.

Cancellation Policy

Free Cancellation if cancel outside 7days. No refund if cancel within 7days.
Noticed: If you would like to cancel, please kindly email us to cancel the tour at least 2 business days prior to this cancellation period. Once cancellation is confirmed, you will receive your refund within 7-28 business days.
Cancellation notification needs to be formally replied receipt by us during our office hours as acknowledgement.

NOTE: FIT TRAVEL would adopt suppliers' cancellation policy. Cancellation fees, if any by the suppliers, will be charged according to the supppliers' cancellation policy ( FIT TRAVEL does not charge additional cancellation fees ).
With this specific product's cancellation policy, the suppliers reserve the right of final interpretation.
If your order only pays the deposit of a product: a, if the product has available seats on the departure date and price and contents are the same as the order you placed, the booking would be confirmed by us without additional notification to you, and the deposit is not refundable. b, if the product has no available seats or price or contents are not the same, we might provide alternative options. If you do not agree with the options, the deposit is refundable.
