When you arrive at Ayers Rock Airport, make your way to the front of the airport terminal for a complimentary transfer to your hotel.

Depart from your hotel 30 minutes before sunset and enjoy a leisurely drive to Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park. Along the way, your friendly driver will explain the geological and cultural history of the area. Kata Tjuta has an area of 40 square kilometres and is composed of 36 domed stones of different sizes and heights, a sacred place for the Anangu people. As the sun sets, the sun's rays illuminate Uluru at various times and angles, creating unpredictable, unforgettable colours and lights. Return to your hotel approximately 1 hour after sunset.

Day 2: Uluru Sunrise + Kata Tjuta Gorge Exploration + Uluru Hike + Uluru Sunset

[Uluru Sunrise]

Rise early to travel to Talinguru Nyakunytjaku, the Uluru Sunrise Viewing Area. Observe the first rays of sun light up the desert while enjoying a warming cup of tea or coffee. On the way to Kata Tjuta-Wapa, enjoy panoramic views of the southern side of Kata Tjuta at a dune viewing platform before arriving at the Walpa Gorge.

[Kata Tjuta-Walpa Gorge Exploration]

Hike with an experienced guide through Walpa Gorge and explore the unusual conglomerate rock formations. Learn about the rock formations and the amazing wildlife in the area. Along the way, you will see small oases and wetlands (with seasonal restrictions), where you will see rare plants and wild desert kangaroos which only exist within these boulders.

[Hiking tour at the base of Uluru]

Embark on an air-conditioned bus tour around Uluru, where your knowledgeable guide will share fascinating insights into the region's geography, history, culture, and ancient Aboriginal stories. Descend to the base of Uluru for a captivating hike, exploring the iconic Kuniya Walk and visiting the serene Mutitjulu Waterhole. View Aboriginal rock art and learn about local wildlife and Uluru's Aboriginal and European history. Immerse yourself in the natural beauty and cultural significance of this sacred site. After your hike, a guide will take you to visit the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Center to learn more about the traditional culture, arts, and crafts of the Aboriginal people. There, you can purchase your own unique Uluru souvenirs.

Travel to the Uluru Sunset Viewing Area where you can relax with a sparkling wine or two while you enjoy a famous Uluru sunset. Witness the incredible changing colours as the sun sets. You’ll arrive back at your hotel 30 minutes after sunset.
