The relaxed holiday vibe of Rottnest's historic settlement is perfect for Segway touring.

From the base at Kingstown Barracks, the experienced guides will introduce you to your Segway in the practice zone before setting off to explore some of the best views of Rottnest Island. Glide along spectacular Thomson Bay, filled with boats and bathers, to the iconic Rottnest pub. Enjoy stories of the settlement’s intriguing past and keep watch for quokkas. You will have plenty of time for #quokkaselfies!

Leaving the settlement, the tour follows beachside paths, exploring pristine bays and popular beaches, including the Basin, one of Rottnest Island's most picturesque swimming spots. Standing sentinel over the swimmers is Bathurst Lighthouse, one of the most popular photo stops on this tour.

Commencing at the base of Kingstown Barracks, the experienced guides will introduce you to your off-road Segway in the practice zone before setting off to delve into the fascinating military history of Rottnest Island.

Visit the Bickley Battery gun emplacements and Jubilee lookout, here you will learn about how important Rottnest Island was in the defence strategy for Fremantle during World War II.

Rottnest Island is renowned for its pristine beaches and secluded bays. The guides will explain the amazing natural habitat of the island with plenty of time to stop at stunning photo locations and perhaps a #quokkaselfie along the way.

Head to Hillarys Boat Harbour, 92 Southside Dr, Hillarys WA 6025 on your own. (Driving directions: Hillarys Boat Harbour is located on Southside and Northside Drives, at the intersection of Hepburn Avenue, Whitfords Avenue, and West Coast Drive in Hillarys.)
Free shuttle service from major hotels in Perth city center to Hillarys Boat Harbour is provided. Please note, reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance. When booking, make sure to specify the need for a shuttle and the name of your hotel for the pick-up point or the closest gathering point to your hotel. If the shuttle service is not requested 24 hours in advance, you will need to make your own way to the harbour.
The ferry departs at 07:30 and 10:00 every morning (45-minute journey), with the return journey leaving at 16:30 and arriving back at the harbour by 17:15. Therefore, hotel pick-up times are around 06:30 and 8:30, with return times to the hotel between 18:00 and 18:30. Pick-up times may slightly vary depending on the hotel (If there are no specific remarks, the default morning ferry is assumed to be the 10:00 AM one, with hotel pick-up around 8:25 AM).

Prices are per person and valid for travel 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2025, for other dates please enquire.
Tour participants must arrive 45 minutes before departure for ferry loading requirements and passenger boarding. Due to loading requirements, check-in will close 30 minutes before departure, and boarding will end 15 minutes before departure. Rottnest Fast Ferries reserves the right to refuse passengers from boarding for not complying with the above check-in and boarding times.
