Visitor Information
- Operating Hours: 10:00 am – 5:00 pm daily.
- Holiday Hours: Closed on Christmas Day (Dec 25). On ANZAC Day (Apr 25), the park opens at 1:30 pm.
- Tip: It is recommended to arrive by 9:30 am to beat the queues for the most popular rides when the gates open at 10:00 am.
Sea World is Australia's premier marine park, offering a unique blend of high-energy entertainment, conservation education, and world-class animal exhibits. It is the only place in Australia where you can get up close to a massive variety of marine life, from playful dolphins and seals to majestic polar bears and sharks. The park is designed to educate as much as it entertains, providing insight into special ecosystems and the work of the Sea World Research and Rescue Foundation. With plenty of dining options, souvenir shops, and interactive experiences, it’s a full-day adventure for the whole family.

Penguin Encounter and Penguin Point
Step into an icy wonderland at Penguin Encounter, an Antarctic-themed exhibit that is home to King and Gentoo penguins. You can watch these graceful birds frolic in the water and lounge on frozen rock formations through massive viewing windows. Nearby, Penguin Point provides a natural-style habitat for over 25 adorable Little (Fairy) Penguins, featuring specially designed burrows to aid in their breeding season and a large pool for their daily waddles.
Shark Bay and Ray Reef
Experience the mystery of the deep at Shark Bay, the world’s largest man-made lagoon system. Spanning two levels, the exhibit offers incredible underwater views of sharks, stingrays, and tropical fish. For a hands-on experience, head to Ray Reef, where over 100 rays glide through the water like "birds of the sea." Guests can learn about these misunderstood creatures and even participate in supervised feeding sessions.
Polar Bear Shores
Sea World’s Polar Bear Shores is Australia's only polar bear exhibit, featuring a state-of-the-art habitat designed to replicate an Arctic summer. Here, you can watch these powerful animals explore their environment and swim in a deep-water pool. The exhibit includes an underwater viewing enclosure, allowing you to see the bears' agility and playfulness from a unique perspective.

Motorized and Adventurous Rides
- Leviathan: The thundering centerpiece of The New Atlantis and the Southern Hemisphere’s largest wooden roller coaster, reaching speeds of 80 km/h.
- Storm Coaster: A high-speed coaster and water flume hybrid that features fire effects, a 20-metre drop, and a massive splash-down finale.
- Jet Rescue: A high-speed "jet ski" launch coaster where you race through a winding track at 70 km/h to save a sea lion.
- Trident: A utopian-themed landmark that spins you freely 42 metres above the ground, providing incredible views of the Gold Coast.
- Vortex: A high-intensity thrill ride that twists, turns, and flips riders 18 metres above sea level.
- Viking’s Revenge Flume Ride: A family favorite 460-metre floating journey that takes you to the top of a Viking castle before a steep plunge into the water.
- Sea Viper: The classic triple-loop coaster (formerly the Corkscrew) that takes you through multiple inversions at high speeds.
Leisure and Transport Rides
- Sky High Skyway: A relaxing cable car ride that travels between the top of the park and the 4-D theatre, offering a perfect bird’s-eye view of the animal enclosures.
- Sea World Monorail: Australia's first monorail system. It provides a scenic and convenient way to travel between different areas of the park and the Sea World Resort.
- The Carousel: A classic, beautifully themed carousel located in the heart of the park, perfect for guests of all ages.
Family Adventure and Kids’ Zones
Castaway Bay - An interactive adventure precinct designed for the whole family:
- Battle Boats: A water-based ride featuring over 80 water cannons where passengers and spectators can engage in a giant water fight.
- Sky Fortress: A massive multi-level climbing structure with rope bridges, tunnels, and mazes for children to explore.
- Sky Climb: A challenging high-ropes course set 12 metres above the ground (this is a paid additional activity).
Nickelodeon Land - The ultimate kids' zone featuring rides themed around your favourite characters:
- SpongeBob’s Boating School Blast: A family-friendly roller coaster through the world of Bikini Bottom.
- Dora’s Fiesta Carousel: A colorful, musical carousel featuring Dora the Explorer and her friends.
- Patrick’s Jellyfish Flyer: A spinning ride that lifts you up into the air.
- Boots' Banana Blast: A fun-filled ride that takes you on a spinning adventure with Boots.
- Bikini Bottom Bus Tour: A vertical jump-and-drop ride for the little ones.
- Sesame Street (The Old School Zone): Includes Bert & Ernie’s Big Dive, Elmo’s Sea Subs, and the Big Bird Bounce.

PAW Patrol is on a roll as Chase and Marshall join you on holiday! They need you to become honorary members and join the team in case there’s a yelp for help. Put your paws in the air, wag your tails and get ready to Pup Pup Boogie your way into a PAWsome holiday!

- Get up close and personal to various species of seals at Seal Harbour during an exclusive Animal Adventure or at the newest Seal Presentation - Seal Guardians.
- Watch them play, splash and sun themselves in the specially designed Seal Harbour exhibit.
- Did you know Sea World is home to Australian sea lions, Californian sea lions, New Zealand/Long-nosed fur seals and Subantarctic fur seals?

Turtle Power Live Show!: Daily at 12:00pm

Thunder Lake Stunt Show: Daily at 1:15pm and 4:15pm
- See the high stakes showdown between the Sun State All Stars and the Bay City River Rats to decide once and for all who rules the iconic Sea World lake. Featuring world class action packed stunts performed by some of the best athletes in the country, this show is one you won’t want to miss!
- Sun State All Stars: The Sun State All Stars have arrived at Sea World and are here to have a good time! See their tricks and flips as they rule the Sea World Lake. But they better be careful otherwise those pesky River Rats might steal their thunder!
- Bay City River Rats: They’re not here to party, The River Rats are here to set this lake on fire! See the River Rats claim back what’s rightfully theirs as they go head to head with those carefree Sun State All Stars.

Shark Bay Educational Talk: Daily at 1:30pm
- See sharks glide past huge windows, offering guests a glimpse into the world of one of the ocean’s top predators.
- Some shark species are apex predators that play a huge role in maintaining a healthy balance of life in ocean ecosystems!

Sea Jellies Educational Talk: Daily at 4:00pm
