Coombabah Lake Conservation Park

Coombabah Lake Conservation Park, nestled within the Gold Coast Hinterland, is a sanctuary of natural beauty and tranquility that offers a unique window into Australia’s diverse ecosystems. This expansive park is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts and nature lovers alike, providing a habitat for a rich variety of plant and animal life, including kangaroos, koalas, and an array of bird species.

The park’s landscapes are varied, featuring wetlands, eucalypt forests, and mangrove habitats, each supporting its own unique community of flora and fauna. Walking trails wind through these serene environments, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the natural beauty and observe wildlife in their natural habitats. Mount Tamborine

22 million years ago the Mount Warning volcano erupted creating the green cauldron of the scenic rim. On the northern edge of the volcanic caldera, Tamborine Mountain was formed. Only a short 30 minute drive from the Gold Coast, Mount Tamborine is the perfect destination to start your journey exploring the green behind the gold. Highlights of the mountain include:

Tamborine Village

On the top of Tamborine Mountain you will find the locality of Tamborine. Part of the Scenic Rim, Tamborine village is home to approx 4000 residents who enjoy living the treechange lifestyle. Mt Tamborine is home to a variety of boutique accommodation including cabins, bed and breakfast, and local lodges all offering a hinterland escape and the country hospitality the mountain is famous for. Many of the locals own and operate their own businesses. A Mt Tamborine tour through the area will take you past restaurants and cafes, boutique distilleries, brewery and vineyards, artist studios,  cheese factory and even an organic skincare producer.

Gallery Walk

Tamborine Mountain Gallery Walk, on Long Road is where you will find over 60 stores offering a range of products, many of which are produced locally on the mountain. Stroll along and visit the artisan fudge and candy stores, locally made gifts and homewares, various fashion and clothing boutiques and crystal and jewellery manufacturers. You won’t go hungry or thirsty as the walk is abundant with laid back cafes and food outlets. There is something for everyone on the walk and it is an enjoyable way to spend an hour or two.

Stay Safe in the National Park

Whilst you are undertaking walking trails and enjoying the Coombabah Lake Conservation Park remember to do so safely:

  • Stay together and keep to the walking tracks.
  • Always keep your children with sight.
  • Take care near cliff edges. Keep your distance and stay behind any barriers, especially when taking photos.
  • Wear a hat, sunscreen, comfortable clothes and sturdy shoes with good grip.
  • Walk with a local guide or experienced bushwalker. This is a good way to gain experience.
  • Rubbish bins are not provided. Please bring rubbish bags, and take all recyclables and rubbish with you when you leave.

Things to Note

  • All fares are inclusive of GST in AUD.
  • Walking fitness : Grade 2
    No walking experience required. The track is a hardened or compacted surface and may have a gentle hill section or sections and occasional steps. Walks no greater than 10km.
  • Wear comfortable shoes for walking.Take a jacket, hat, sunscreen & a water bottle. Bring some money for extras you may wish to purchase.

Cancellation Policy

Noticed: If you would like to cancel, please kindly email us to cancel the tour at least 2 business days prior to this cancellation period. Once cancellation is confirmed, you will receive your refund within 7-28 business days.
Cancellation notification needs to be formally replied receipt by us during our office hours as acknowledgement.
