Leave Christchurch on a luxury coach and enjoy picturesque views of the Canterbury Plains before arriving at Lake Tekapo for a rest break. Enjoy the tranquil atmosphere and take pictures of the Church of the Good Shepherd surrounded by crystal clear waters. Enter the impressive Southern Alps and continue towards Mount Cook. Compelling commentary from the driver on the region’s culture and history will keep you entertained on board. Arrive at Mount Cook, feel free to explore the village and its surroundings at your own leisure

Itinerary

Take a scenic half-day tour from Christchurch to spectacular Mount Cook.

Our tour departs Christchurch in the morning and travels through the lush farmland of the Canterbury Plains to Lake Tekapo, where you can see the iconic Church of the Good Shepherd as it stands in solitude next to the vibrant blue waters. Leaving Tekapo, we continue into the Southern Alps towards Aoraki / Mount Cook National Park, home to New Zealand’s tallest mountain. Along the way your driver guide will keep you entertained and informed with commentary on the area’s history and sites of interest.

The tour concludes on arrival at Mount Cook Village, where you can choose to enjoy lunch (optional extra) at the famous Hermitage Hotel. Explore the village and soak up the views of Aoraki / Mount Cook as it towers above. You’ll also have the chance to take a scenic flight over this breathtaking alpine region (additional cost, weather permitting). You have the rest of the day at leisure.

The following day you can choose to continue to Queenstown or return to Christchurch

  • 7:05am - Check in with your driver/guide outside the Bus Interchange on Lichfield Street, Christchurch
  • 7:20am – Coach departs Christchurch Coach Terminal
  • 9:15 am – Coach arrives at Geraldine for Morning Tea (30minutes, own expense)
  • 11:00am – Coach arrives at Church of the Good Shepherd and Lake Tekapo village
  • 11.30am – Coach departs from Lake Tekapo Village
  • 12:55pm - Coach arrives at Mount Cook, Aoraki Hermitage Hotel

Cancellation Policy

10% surcharge if change or cancel after order is placed. No refund if cancel within 3days.
Noticed: If you would like to cancel, please kindly email us to cancel the tour at least 2 business days prior to this cancellation period. Once cancellation is confirmed, you will receive your refund within 7-28 business days.
Cancellation notification needs to be formally replied receipt by us during our office hours as acknowledgement.

NOTE: FIT TRAVEL would adopt suppliers' cancellation policy. Cancellation fees, if any by the suppliers, will be charged according to the supppliers' cancellation policy ( FIT TRAVEL does not charge additional cancellation fees ).
With this specific product's cancellation policy, the suppliers reserve the right of final interpretation.
If your order only pays the deposit of a product: a, if the product has available seats on the departure date and price and contents are the same as the order you placed, the booking would be confirmed by us without additional notification to you, and the deposit is not refundable. b, if the product has no available seats or price or contents are not the same, we might provide alternative options. If you do not agree with the options, the deposit is refundable.
