Day Tour Itinerary:

  • 1:00pm: Evolution arrives at reef location 2

Your day on the Great Barrier Reef:

Your Great Barrier Reef day tour begins by boarding the award-winning superyacht Evolution and being met by our professional and expert dive crew who will make sure you are comfortable and ready for an adventure-filled day.

Relax onboard your 35-metre luxury superyacht for the day, as you cruise from Cairns to two exclusive outer Great Barrier Reef sites. Guests enjoy a total of five hours on the outer reef visiting two stunning and diverse reefs such as Norman, Saxon and Hastings. These locations are chosen for their exceptional coral density and prolific marine life.
Upon arrival at your first reef location, either Saxon or Norman Reef, it’s time to snorkel and dive (scuba dive additional cost). Hop in the water with your provided equipment and check out the underwater world full of multicoloured fish, coral, and other marine life. Instruction is provided for beginners, and your knowledgeable dive crew are on hand to encourage and help you if need.

During your time on the reef, you will enjoy a BBQ Lunch prepared on board with fresh fish, steak, a variety of salads, and prawns. We also cater for special dietary requirements. At the second reef location, North Hastings Reef, you can snorkel or dive again. If you prefer to stay dry, you can still check out the World Heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef from above with a 10-minute scenic helicopter flight or from below on our Semi-Submersible Tour (additional costs apply).

On the return cruise back to Cairns, sit back and relax with a glass of wine and afternoon tea to celebrate the end of your day tour on the Great Barrier Reef.

Day 2: Kuranda with Rainforestation (Wildlife Park, Army Duck and Pamagirri Aboriginal Experience and Train)

All Day Trip: Pick up from your accommodation (within CDB) around 07:30-08:30am (Reference to the Voucher Confirmation) and Return around 16:00pm

This wonderful full day Kuranda tour combines the best of the Tropic Wings experience with an unforgettable tour through one of the world’s oldest rainforests, at the award winning Rainforestation Nature Park. All-aboard a WWII Army Duck that will host you on land and water, deep into the rainforest, Then revisit the past with a journey through Indigenous Aboriginal culture, curated by the Pamagirri Experience. Hand feed the free roaming kangaroos and wallabies, observe the endangered cassowary, meet the dingo’s and the only Tasmanian Devils in the area. This is the perfect way to discover the Cairns region and lets you experience some of Australia’s native wildlife, rainforests, and local culture.

Tour Itinerary

07:30-08:30am Travel to Rainforeststation Nature Park: Begin your travels to Rainforeststation Nature Park by Caoch via the scenic Kuranda Range

09:15am Arrive at Rainforeststation Nature Park: Upon arrival you will be greeted by our friendly team who will tell you about our additional experience currently on offer and assign as a schedule for your day.

Approximately 45 minutes

Army Duck Rainforest Tour with Tropical Fruit Orchard: Travel deep into the rainforest on both land and water as your guide explains different species of flora and fauna.

Approximately 60 minutes

Pamagirri Aboriginal Experience: Watch the Pamagirri Dancers perform in the rainforest amphitheatre, then join the Dreamtime walk - learn to throw a boomerang and watch spear-throwing and didgeridoo playing.

Approximately 30 minutes

Koala & Wildlife Park: Wander at your leisure. A series of elevated boardwalks provide close-up uninterrupted views of various Australian animals and reptiles. See crocodiles, wombats, snakes, dingoes and a cassowary, and hand feed kangaroos and wallabies. You'll have the opportunity to have a photo taken with koala or holding a small crocodile.

12:00pm Transfer to Kuranda Village: Depart Rainforestation for your transfer into Kuranda Village. Alternatively, you may wish to stay longer at Rainforestation for an Aussie BBQ Lunch offering a range of meats and salads served buffet style

On arrival to Kuranda Village, wander through the shops and markets. A must see is the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary with a 10% discount off your entry fee.

3pm Kuranda Railway Station Be at Kuranda Railway Station for the 3:30pm train. The scenic rail journey takes1.75 hours through to Cairns Railway Station

5:15pm Head back to your accommodation Your coach will be at the Cairns Railway Station to transfer you to your accommodation. Please tell your tour guide if you do not require a return transfer.

Evolution Full Day Reef Cruise from Cairns

Do I need to complete a dive medical?

All divers must complete a Queensland Medical Questionnaire.

Certified divers must show an internationally recognised scuba card.

  • Minimum age for Introductory divers and dive courses: 12+ years and Certified divers: 10+ years.
  • Please keep in mind that all divers are required to complete a medical questionnaire. In our commitment to the safety of our guests, divers over 65 years (or 45 years for PADI dive courses) must have a medical clearance with a physician the confirms they are Fit To Dive. This can be provided by your own GP before you leave for your holiday.
  • Please be aware that certain medical conditions (e.g. asthma, heart disease, diabetes) and/or prescription medication may prevent some people from diving. Please review our Introductory and Certified Diver Medical Declaration prior to travel. The purpose of this Medical Declaration is to find out if you should be examined by a physician before participating in recreational diving. A positive response to a question does not necessarily disqualify you from diving. A positive response means there is a pre-existing condition that may affect your safety while diving and you must seek the advice of a physician.
  • Scuba diving can be strenuous under certain conditions. Your respiratory and circulatory systems must be in good health. All body spaces must be normal and healthy. Please review our Introductory and Certified Diver Medical Declaration prior to travel.
  • In the interests of safety, we recommend no flying within 24hours of the last dive.

Important information:

  • Helicopter: 130kg weight restrictions apply for helicopter rides.
  • Diving: All divers must complete a Queensland Medical Questionnaire onboard. Certified divers must show an internationally recognised scuba card. Minimum age for Introductory divers and dive courses: 12+ years and Certified divers: 10+ years.
  • Semi-Sub: Please note that due to safety reasons, the Semi Submarine Tour is weather permitting.

The maintenance and closure schedule for the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway project is as follows, please take note: (During this period, please consider it as a round-trip train package)

  • From August 28th to August 31st, 2023 (inclusive)
  • From September 1st to September 3rd, 2023 (inclusive)
  • December 25th, 2023 (Christmas Day)
  • Additionally, in 2024, Skyrail Rainforest Cableway will be closed for maintenance on the following dates: From May 6th to May 19th, 2024 (inclusive)
  • December 25th, 2024 (Christmas Day)
  • Please note that there may be additional closure dates in 2024 that have not been confirmed yet. Once confirmed, we will provide updates on the website's announcement board.

Booking Information

  • It is highly recommended to reconfirm your booking on arrival in Cairns and confirm your hotel pick up departure and pick up time. For your information, complete Tour Operator Information including contact details are included on your tour voucher
  • Confirmation in the form of a tour voucher will be received at time of booking
  • Upon completion of purchase, please print the voucher and present on the day of the tour. Vouchers presented on a mobile device are also accepted
  • Availability was accurate at the time of booking however, is subject to change due to circumstances out of our control. We strongly suggest reconfirming your booking with the tour operator within 24 hours of making your booking and prior to making other travel arrangements
