Step aboard the elegant Providence V Tallship for a relaxing 2-hour sunset sailing experience in the Whitsundays. Departing from Airlie Beach, you’ll glide across beautiful Pioneer Bay as the tropical sun begins to set, filling the sky and water with soft shades of gold, orange and pastel pink. With the sea breeze, gentle waves and spectacular Whitsundays scenery surrounding you, it’s a wonderful way to slow down and enjoy one of the most beautiful times of the day.

During the sail, enjoy a complimentary glass of bubbles and a selection of nibbles, including bread, fruit, cheese and dips. Find your favourite spot on deck, sit back and take in the sunset, or join the friendly crew and help hoist the sails for a hands-on taste of traditional tallship sailing. During whale season, you may even be lucky enough to spot a humpback whale and her calf while cruising across the bay.

Providence V is much more than a typical sightseeing vessel. This distinctive 62-foot Gloucester schooner is a replica of a traditional Grand Banks fishing boat and was constructed using North Queensland timbers, featuring Quandong masts, a red mahogany hull, Penda frames and a Silver Ash interior. Its classic design creates an authentic sailing atmosphere that makes the journey itself part of the experience.

With a maximum of just 24 guests, Providence V offers a more intimate way to experience the Whitsundays.   • Public Holidays: A surcharge applies on Boxing Day, New Year’s Day, Anzac Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday and Australia Day.

Transportation

  • The Whitsundays are easily accessible by car, rail, coach and air. For travellers visiting Airlie Beach, the main gateway is Proserpine / Whitsunday Coast Airport (PPP). Alternatively, visitors can fly into Hamilton Island Airport (HTI) and continue their journey through the Whitsundays.
  • Airlie Beach is a popular gateway to the Whitsundays, with 74 islands right on its doorstep. The region offers a wide variety of experiences, including sailing, scenic helicopter flights, fishing and wildlife adventures.
  • For self-drive travellers, Airlie Beach is conveniently located less than 30 minutes from the Bruce Highway, Queensland’s major coastal route. It is approximately 3 hours south of Townsville and around 7 hours south of Cairns, making it a convenient stop when travelling along the Queensland coast between Cairns and Brisbane.

Things to Note

  • Age Requirement: Guests must be 4 years or older.
  • Children are charged at the adult rate for the Sunset Sail.
  • No Show: No refund will be provided. A 100% cancellation fee applies.
  • Departure times, prices and conditions are subject to change without prior notice.
  • The vessel’s Master reserves the right to alter the itinerary due to weather, sea conditions, safety considerations or other operational reasons.
  • If weather conditions prevent the tour from operating, guests will be eligible for a refund in accordance with the operator’s policy.
  • Refund requests for any other reason are subject to the sole discretion of Providence Sailing.
  • A minimum of 15 guests is required to confirm each sailing. The tour may be cancelled or adjusted if minimum numbers are not met.
  • All guests acknowledge that sailing and marine activities involve inherent risks and are required to complete a mandatory waiver before boarding. The waiver is available online and will also be sent to the guest’s email address.
  • A valid mobile number and email address are mandatory at the time of booking for confirmation and important tour communications.

Cancellation Policy

Free Cancellation if cancel outside 7days. No refund if cancel within 7days.
Noticed: If you would like to cancel, please kindly email us to cancel the tour at least 2 business days prior to this cancellation period. Once cancellation is confirmed, you will receive your refund within 7-28 business days.
Cancellation notification needs to be formally replied receipt by us during our office hours as acknowledgement.

NOTE: FIT TRAVEL would adopt suppliers' cancellation policy. Cancellation fees, if any by the suppliers, will be charged according to the supppliers' cancellation policy ( FIT TRAVEL does not charge additional cancellation fees ).
