Day 1: Quicksilver Outer Barrier Reef Cruise - Agincourt Reef

Quicksilver: All Day trip, Pick up from accommodation (within CBD area) 7:45-8:15am and return around 6:00pm

For your experience of a lifetime, Quicksilver’s wavepiercing catamaran and friendly crew will take you to a reef at the very edge of Australia’s Continental Shelf, to an underwater world that is dazzling kaleidoscope of colour and brilliance.

Agincourt Reef, a magnificent ribbon reef where you can experience first hand the magic that is the Great Barrier Reef.

Quicksilver takes you to Agincourt Reef, at the very outer edge of the Barrier Reef. Here, special reefs known as ‘ribbons’ run parallel to the Continental Shelf. Adjacent to the Coral Sea trench, these ribbon reefs are recognised as the most pristine eco-systems in the reef’s environment. Clear water provides the best possible underwater visibility, encourages rich coral growth and supports spectacular marine life. As the region’s outer reef pioneer, we chose the best location available to show you nature’s finest.

Sharing the wonder of the world’s largest living entity, realising its breathtaking colour and majesty, seeing nature at its most perfect is an awakening and, quite simply, the memory of a lifetime. Come and experience nature’s finest with Australia’s best. At Agincourt ribbon reef, you’ll feel as if you’ve embraced paradise.

Itinerary

  • 07:50-08:10 am Pick up from Cairns City
  • 09:15 am  Check in at Port Douglas: Check in at the Quicksilver reservations counter to receive your boarding pass.
  • 9:30 am Boarding: After checking in, board the vessel and enjoy the complimentary morning tea/coffee on boarding. For your safety, hot drinks are not served once the vessel is underway. Passengers are required to be onboard the vessel 15 minutes before departure (10am).
  • 10 am Departure: Choose to sit in the air-conditioned cabins or on the outside decks as our Wavepiercer departs the Port Douglas Marina for the Outer Barrier Reef.
  • 10:30 am On the way to GBR - Presentation: A Marine biology presentation is shown on the vessel monitors 30 minutes after departure. A snorkelling demonstration will follow. If you’re participating in scuba diving or helmet diving, you’ll have a 30 minute briefing with the dive crew in readiness for your dive.
  • 11:30 am Outer Barrier Reef Platform: Swim and snorkel from the activity platform. Underwater observatory open for coral and fish viewing. Semi-subs depart every fifteen minutes from the rear of the platform. Pre-booked guided snorkel, scuba and helmet diving, and scenic helicopter flights commence as scheduled. Fish feed presentation conducted in the snorkel area.
  • 12-1:30 pm Lunch served: Lunch [included in the fare] is served. Enjoy a hot and cold tropical buffet, containing fresh prawns, pastas, meats, salads and fruit. There are full bar facilities available where you can purchase drinks.
  • After lunch: Time for more reef activities or just relax and take in the view!
    3.00 pm Return: Depart Agincourt Reef for Port Douglas. Chat with the marine biologists, enjoy the reef video and even the photographers photos of the day on the homeward journey.
  • 4.30 pm – Arrival at Port Douglas Marina: Arrival at Port Douglas Marina, Port Douglas.
  • 4:30-6pm Transfer Back to Cairns City

Day 2: Northern Experience Eco Tour Paronella Park, Rainforest & Waterfalls

Atherton Tableland: All Day trip, Pick up from your accommodation (within CBD area) 7:15-7:45am and return around 6:00pm

Discover the natural beauty and history of the Atherton Tablelands on this full-day tour, covering over 300km packed with pristine rainforest waterfalls, ancient tropical rainforests and the intriguing history of heritage-listed Paronella Park. Amongst a small group in our air-conditioned bus, our expert guides reveal the secrets of the rolling landscapes and charming townships of the Tablelands, taking time to pause for unforgettable scenic views, rainforest encounters and of course, a dip in the cool rainforest waters of Millaa Millaa Falls and Babinda Boulders.

Day 3: Cairns Aquarium Admission

Cairns Aquarium Admission: Opening hours 10 am -3 pm everyday, last Admission 2 pm.

Visit the top aquarium in Cairns to discover the incredible biodiversity of two World Heritage-listed areas, the Wet Tropics and the Great Barrier Reef, providing a show-stopping spectacle of color, shape, and movement.

Touch Tanks, under AquaNut supervision, offer the opportunity to touch incredible creatures from the rainforest and the reef.

Quicksilver Outer Barrier Reef Cruise - Agincourt Reef

  • SCUBA DIVING CONDITIONS -
    Certain medical conditions (diabetes, asthma etc) and medications may preclude some people from scuba diving. Please see our Dive Medical page for more information
    Minimum age for diving is 12 years.
    Flying after diving: A wait of 12 hours is recommended but preferably 24 hours, if doing multiple dives, before ascending to an altitude of 300 metres or greater.
    Certified divers must posses an internationally recognized SCUBA certificate card.

  • A sense of adventure and thirst for great views!

Cairns Aquarium Admission

  • Free of charge for children under 2 years old. All children must be accompanied by an adult
  • Cairns Aquarium requires all guests to wear shirts and shoes during their visit and reserves the right to deny entry and eject any individual from the aquarium and aquarium property
  • Smoking (including e-cigarettes) is prohibited anywhere on Aquarium property, including outdoor areas unless designated as a smoking area
  • Pets are not allowed in Cairns Aquarium's facility, except for accredited trained service and emotional support animals upon presentation of proper documentation and an identification jacket for the service animal
  • The following items are not permitted in Cairns Aquarium: clothing with offensive or vulgar language; alcoholic beverages, cigarettes, recreational drugs; rollerblades, roller skates, wheelies, skateboards, child scooters, hoverboards; laser pens and pointers; noisemaking devices; balloons and bubbles
