Your Experience

Your adventure begins with a picturesque cruise through the pristine Coffin Bay coastline. Along the way, you'll be treated to stunning views of secluded islands and pillow-like beaches. Keep an eye out for pods of playful dolphins accompanying the oyster vessel; while sightings can't be guaranteed, they're highly likely. Upon arrival at the oyster farm, you'll instantly be captivated by the beauty and vastness of these world-famous, prime-growing oyster farms, amazed by the crystal-clear waters that surround them.

Waders are provided, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the oyster farm and discover all its beauty up close at your own leisure, truly connecting with the source of these exquisite delicacies. After your immersive experience, you'll retreat to the comfort of the boat to indulge in some freshly shucked oysters, perfectly complemented by a variety of local beverages available for purchase. While you relax, your host, a veteran oyster farmer, will share the fascinating history of oyster farming in Coffin Bay, including the secrets behind producing world-class oysters. You'll also receive a hands-on lesson, learning how to shuck oysters like a pro!

Before returning to Coffin Bay, there's one more stop: a cruise past the Coffin Bay National Park to Brother's Islands, infamous for its herds of seals that love to laze on the rocks of this remote island (seal sightings are highly likely but not guaranteed). From here, the journey back to the Coffin Bay marina is taken at a leisurely pace, allowing you to soak in every element of the beautiful, remote Coffin Bay waterways.

Occasionally, the crew may need to return a few oyster bags to the water; if your booking is for a special occasion and you prefer this not to happen, please kindly inform them.

Important Information for Families

Children and infants are warmly welcomed on these tours, often with great curiosity about oysters, their cultivation, the oyster boat, and the exciting marine life encountered along the way. However, please note that the captain's talk, approximately 20-30 minutes in length, may not hold the interest of younger children. Therefore, parents are recommended to bring a quiet activity (such as an iPad with headphones) or an exciting snack to keep the kids entertained during this portion of the tour. Alternatively, families have the option to sit in the outside seating area during the talk if they prefer, which provides an ideal location to spot an array of sea creatures on the oyster farm.
