Best of wildlife, nature, food & wine

Discover Kangaroo Island's nature, wildlife, and local wine and cider on this new one-day tour. Aside from the amazing wildlife, Kangaroo Island is also well known for its thriving food and wine industry. Your local guide will introduce you to some of the island’s leading producers, where you'll have the chance to find out about their products, and history and sample their range.

On this tour, you'll visit the incredible Raptor Domain for the exciting and educational "Free Flight" Birds of Prey Presentation at Raptor Domain. This is the only free flight Birds of Prey display in South Australia and it is thought by many to be the most interactive Birds of Prey display in Australia.

Next, travel to Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery (South Australia’s only commercial Eucalyptus Oil Distillery) for a delicious two-course lunch. After lunch, you’ll listen to an introductory talk about the history of the oil distillery and take a guided tour. You may choose to taste Kangaroo Island Ciders’ range of Colony Cove products including Apple Sparkler and Cider (additional cost). Finish off with some free time in their souvenir shop where you will find an assortment of Eucalyptus products.

Your next stop is Clifford’s Honey Farm, where you’ll enjoy an informative guided tour of the honey room where you will learn about the extraction process, taste a honey soft drink and have the option to sample the Drunken Drone Brewery’s Honey Wheat Ale. In the farm gate shop, you can see a working beehive where you can try to spot the Queen bee. There are different varieties of pure Kangaroo Island Ligurian honey and beauty products to purchase as well as their famous honey ice-cream.

Continue to Pennington Bay, a spectacular beach on the south coast of Kangaroo Island for a photo opportunity. This delightful tour ends with a visit to the newly renovated False Cape Wines Cellar Door situated on the beautiful Dudley Peninsula. Here, you can soak up the views and enjoy a structured tasting of their premium wines. Your tour ends at the Penneshaw Hotel where you have ample time for dinner (own expense) before returning to the Penneshaw Ferry Terminal for your return ferry and coach transfer back to Adelaide.

From Adelaide, this tour is a 16-hour day that includes travel to and from Kangaroo Island. You do get time to rest during your ferry transfers and coach travel between attractions. Or, if you have the time to spare, why not consider staying overnight on Kangaroo Island or going over the day before your tour on our Kangaroo Island Sip & See Escape.

Guests must arrive at the pick-up location at least 15 minutes before departure. There will be no waiting for late arrivals, and guests will be considered to have forfeited their booking automatically without refund.

Notices

  • Prices are per person and valid for travel 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2025, for other dates please enquire.
  • Kangaroo Island is in high demand throughout the year, so it is recommended to book at least 2 months in advance to secure availability.
  • A child is 3-14 years. Infants 0-2 years are free of charge.
  • Itinerary and inclusions are subject to change without notice, especially on days classified as catastrophic fire danger on Kangaroo Island.
  • If you have any special dietary requirements please contact us and let us know.
  • On Island Tours DO NOT include mainland coach transfers or ferry to/from Kangaroo Island. You must be on Kangaroo Island to participate in the Day Tours at the ‘on island’ price. If you require transfers and a ferry please select an alternative option above.

^On Island Departures from Kingscote or American River include:

  • KI Transfers will transfer you from your hotel to Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery to meet the SeaLink Tour coach which departs from Penneshaw.
  • At the conclusion of the tour in Penneshaw, you will meet the SeaLink Shuttle at the Penneshaw Ferry Terminal that departs at 7pm for your transfer back to American River or Kingscote.

Cancellation Policy

15% surcharge if change or cancel after order is placed. No refund if cancel within 30days.
Noticed: If you would like to cancel, please kindly email us to cancel the tour at least 2 business days prior to this cancellation period. Once cancellation is confirmed, you will receive your refund within 7-28 business days.
Cancellation notification needs to be formally replied receipt by us during our office hours as acknowledgement.

NOTE: FIT TRAVEL would adopt suppliers' cancellation policy. Cancellation fees, if any by the suppliers, will be charged according to the supppliers' cancellation policy ( FIT TRAVEL does not charge additional cancellation fees ).
With this specific product's cancellation policy, the suppliers reserve the right of final interpretation.
If your order only pays the deposit of a product: a, if the product has available seats on the departure date and price and contents are the same as the order you placed, the booking would be confirmed by us without additional notification to you, and the deposit is not refundable. b, if the product has no available seats or price or contents are not the same, we might provide alternative options. If you do not agree with the options, the deposit is refundable.
