Itinerary

Day 1: Yulara & Uluru Sunset (Sunday)

Day 1: Arrival in the Red Centre

Afternoon:

  • Meet Your Guide: Gather at the Desert Gardens Hotel at 2:00 PM and meet your experienced guide.
  • Cultural Center: Immerse yourself in the rich cultural heritage of the Anangu people at the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre. Learn about the Dreamtime stories and the spiritual significance of Uluru and Kata Tjuta.

Evening:

  • Sunset Ceremony: Witness the breathtaking sunset over Uluru, as the iconic rock transforms into a canvas of vibrant colours.
  • Campsite: Set up camp under the vast starry sky and enjoy a delicious dinner with your fellow travellers.

Day 2: Uluru (Monday)

Morning:

  • Sunrise Ceremony: Witness the breathtaking sunrise over Uluru, a truly awe-inspiring spectacle.
  • Uluru Base Walk: Embark on a guided walk around the base of Uluru, learning about its cultural significance and geological history. Explore ancient rock art sites, tranquil waterholes, and hidden caves.

Afternoon:

Day 4: Kings Canyon to Coober Pedy (Wednesday)

Morning:

  • Priscilla's Crack: Explore the iconic Priscilla's Crack, made famous by the Australian film "The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert."

Day 5: Coober Pedy to William Creek (Thursday)

Day 6: William Creek to Flinders Ranges via the Oodnadatta Track* (Friday)

Venture off the beaten path and embark on a thrilling journey along the iconic Oodnadatta Track.

  • Moonlike Landscapes: Traverse the otherworldly landscapes of the Oodnadatta Track, reminiscent of a lunar surface.
  • Mutonia Sculpture Park: Discover a quirky collection of sculptures created from recycled materials.

Afternoon:

  • Lake Eyre: Catch a glimpse of Australia's largest salt lake, a vast expanse of white that stretches as far as the eye can see.

Day 7: Ikara-Flinders Ranges National Park (Saturday)

Morning:

  • Flinders Ranges National Park: Embark on a captivating hike through the ancient landscapes of the Flinders Ranges. Trek through towering river red gum forests, past crystal-clear waterholes, and ascend to breathtaking viewpoints that offer panoramic vistas of the rugged terrain.
  • Conservation Work: Contribute to the preservation of this pristine environment by participating in a meaningful conservation project.

Afternoon:

  • Brachina Gorge: Take a scenic drive through the stunning Brachina Gorge, marvelling at the exposed rock formations that tell the story of Earth's ancient past.

Evening:

  • Campfire Gathering: Relax around the campfire, share stories, and enjoy a delicious dinner under the starlit sky.

Day 8: Flinders Ranges to Adelaide (Sunday)

Morning:

  • Arkaroo Rock: Embark on a hike to Arkaroo Rock, a significant cultural site for the Adnyamathanha people. Admire the ancient rock art depicting the Dreamtime stories and enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.

Afternoon:

  • Alligator Gorge: Explore the stunning Alligator Gorge in Mount Remarkable National Park, a hidden gem with crystal-clear waterholes and lush vegetation.
  • Clare Valley: Drive through the picturesque Clare Valley wine region, known for its world-class wines.

Evening:

  • Adelaide: Arrive in Adelaide, marking the end of your unforgettable outback adventure.

Transportation

  • First Day 2 pm: Free Pick up from the hotel in Ayers Rock, please provide your pre-night hotel when you make a reservation, and our friendly staff will arrange the nearest pickup location for you. Ayers Rock Airport has a free bus to transfer to Ayers Rock Resort/Yulara, for those who need Airport pick up Guest
  • Final Day 6 pm: Bus Drop off to Adelaide City, please provide your following hotel stay when you make a reservation, and our friendly staff will arrange the nearest drop-off location for you.

Notices

  • All per-person prices quoted are in Australian dollars and are valid from 1st April 2023 to 31st March 2024.
  • This Uluru to Adelaide tour commences in Yulara (Ayers Rock Resort) on day one at approximately 2 pm. This gives people time to travel from Alice Springs that morning before the tour departs. Passengers may also come on flights into Uluru Airport that morning with a complimentary transfer bus from the airport to the Resort, where they will meet their Guide at 2 pm.
  • To get the most from this adventure, you need to enjoy the outdoors, hike, and be able to cope with extreme weather conditions.
  • A moderate fitness level is required, and you need to be prepared for walks between 3-12 kilometres on some days. This may involve rough ground and perhaps getting wet.
  • Please advise of any special dietary requirements when you book. We offer plenty of variety and do our best to provide fresh products. Snacks, soft drinks and alcohol are not included.
  • Bags are restricted to 1 × 15 kg backpack / soft travel bag per person, plus one small piece of hand luggage.
  • This tour requires a minimum of six people to operate. In the unlikely event your departure is cancelled because minimum numbers have not been met, we will transfer all monies paid onto a future departure date. If this is not suitable, we will refund your tour price in full.

CAMPING

  • This is a camping tour, and involvement from the passengers is required. This can include helping with meals and packing up camp.
  • Camping on this tour is at a mixture of national parks and campgrounds. All campgrounds do have basic toilet and shower facilities.
  • When camping under the stars, we use single swags. Swags are ‘Aussie Bed Rolls’ made from sturdy canvas with a mattress built into the swag. Passengers need to provide a sleeping bag and pillow to insert into the swag.
  • Swag Upgrade – if you would like to upgrade to a deluxe double swag that comfortably sleeps up to two people, you can pay a $300 upgrade fee during the booking process. This swag features a high-density foam mattress and mesh windows. Due to the size of this swag, there is limited availability, so it is first in best dressed.
  • Our wet weather option is tents shared by the group.
  • In the unlikely event of an extreme weather event, alternative accommodation may be sourced. In this case, the accommodation costs incurred will be shared 50/50 between Untamed Escapes and each passenger.

ITINERARY CHANGES

  • Weather conditions in the Australian outback can change quickly and dramatically. Our experienced guides will always put the safety of our passengers first and stay abreast of weather conditions.
  • Itinerary changes may occur to ensure we provide the best possible experience. For example, in the hot summer months, from December to March, we may change the times of hikes to earlier in the day. Any itinerary changes will be communicated to the group in advance.
  • The Oodnadatta Track accessibility is strongly dependent on weather conditions. See below for further information.

OODNADATTA TRACK CLOSURE ALTERNATE ITINERARY

The Oodnadatta Track is an unsealed dirt road, and the conditions of the track depend heavily on the weather. If the road is deemed unsafe for our bus to drive on, or there is a possibility that sections of the road will close after we have commenced driving on the track, our Guide reserves the right to alter the itinerary and take a different route. If, for safety reasons, the decision is made not to travel on the track, the itinerary for day three will be changed as follows;

Port Augusta | Coober Pedy via Stuart Highway | Josephine’s Kangaroo Orphanage & Gallery | Coober Pedy township | Umoona Opal Mine & Museum | Overnight Coober Pedy.

Cancellation Policy

No refund if cancel after order is placed.

NOTE: FIT TRAVEL would adopt suppliers' cancellation policy. Cancellation fees, if any by the suppliers, will be charged according to the supppliers' cancellation policy ( FIT TRAVEL does not charge additional cancellation fees ).
With this specific product's cancellation policy, the suppliers reserve the right of final interpretation.
If your order only pays the deposit of a product: a, if the product has available seats on the departure date and price and contents are the same as the order you placed, the booking would be confirmed by us without additional notification to you, and the deposit is not refundable. b, if the product has no available seats or price or contents are not the same, we might provide alternative options. If you do not agree with the options, the deposit is refundable.
