The Zoo is home to hundreds of rare and endangered animals including giraffes, rhinos, elephants and big cats. Daily keeper activities (included in zoo entry) and special tours and Animal Encounters deliver magical experiences you will never forget.

Taronga Western Plains Zoo Dubbo is located on Obley Road in Dubbo, central west NSW.
Dubbo is just a one hour flight from Sydney. There are a number of flights to and from Dubbo City Airport every day.
Taronga Western Plains Zoo Dubbo is a five to six hour drive from Sydney, Canberra and Newcastle. Take your time and stop along the way at the region's various wineries, historic villages and attractions.
Free parking at the Zoo is available both at the Savannah Visitor Plaza and in parking bays throughout the Zoo circuit, for those wishing to drive their own car. Dedicated caravan and trailer parking is available inside the entry gates
NSW TrainLink offers a range of regular coach and train services from regional NSW to Dubbo. Travel to Dubbo from Lightening Ridge, Bourke, Parkes, Orange and Bathurst.
From Dubbo, you can access the Zoo by bike or on foot using the Tracker Riley Cycleway.
The cycleway is part of a 13km loop which provides access to the Zoo from either side of the Macquarie River. It commences at the LH Ford Bridge over the Macquarie River and passes through Sir Roden Cutler Park on the way to Taronga Western Plains Zoo. The cycleway continues onto Dundullimal Homestead and crosses the river again, connecting with Macquarie Street.
