Day and Night on the Reef

Experience the iconic wonders of the Great Barrier Reef at SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium’s brand new exhibit. Set entirely on the reef as it transitions through night and day, life on the reef is recreated for guests to encounter & experience, across 24 hours of the day. This new exhibit uses state of the art technology to deliver a totally unique, interactive experience & is the largest Great Barrier Reef exhibit in the world!

Penguin Expedition

Journey to Macquarie Island and meet some of our most adorable feathered friends! Get up close to our colony of Gentoo and King penguins as they waddle, slide and splash about! PLUS hop aboard our exclusive Penguin Boat Ride experience to get even closer!

Shark Valley

Face your fears as you walk under some of the world's biggest aquarium sharks, including Grey Nurse Sharks. Continue your journey deep under the sea and explore the depths of Shark Valley. When journeying through the parallel underwater tunnels you'll also come across our huge Smooth Stingray!

Dugong Island

Home to our Dugong, a beautiful animal which legend has it were mistaken for mermaids by early European sailors arriving in Australia's waters. Pig can be seen from above and in the viewing tunnels below. Dugong Island also hosts a range of other amazing animals, including White Spotted Eagle Rays, Bamboo Sharks and dozens of species of fish.

Discovery Rockpool

Not all the animals are behind glass at SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium! Come and meet one of our experts and make an amazing discovery at our rockpool. You'll be able to see and touch sea stars, shark eggs, shells and more! And yes, hand wipes are provided :)

South Coast Shipwreck

Set amongst this beached shipwreck environment you can discover a vast array of animals native to the Southern Oceans. This zone is home to our incredibly popular colony of Little Penguins, who can be seen darting through the water and waddling across the beach while going about their very important little penguin business.

Sydney Harbour

Here, among the stilted piers and platform decks you'll discover animals that are native to one of the most iconic harbours in the world. With over 600 species of fish inhabiting its depths, Sydney Harbour is a vital link in the ecology of the coastline and our themed zone provides a snapshot of what lies beneath - it's as beautiful as above the surface!

Jurassic Seas

Jurassic Seas takes you into the depths of the ocean to see where life began and meet weird and wonderful living fossils. Learn about evolution and discover the mysterious hagfish, lungfish, Moray Eel and mudskipper.

SEA LIFE Sydney is located on the city side of Darling Harbour, right in the heart of Sydney.

Drive

To get to the SEA LIFE aquarium by car using a Sat Nav use our address and it will bring you straight here: 1-5 Wheat Rd, Sydney NSW 2000.

We have several parking options close to the aquarium, using one of our partner's you can save money by getting your ticket validated in the shop as you exit the attraction. Present your parking ticket to the gift shop attendant and they will validate it for you.

Train

A short walk from Town Hall or Wynyard stations. Head for King Street from Wynyard or Market Street from Town Hall and then walk west down the hill towards Darling Harbour.

Ferry

Public ferry services to Darling Harbour depart from Circular Quay Wharf 5 about every half an hour.

Other operators include Captain Cook and Manly Fast Ferry.

Bus

If you're on the Big Bus Sydney, hop off at the SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium stop on Wheat Road, under the foot bridge.

Alternatively, hop off any bus service that drops near Market Street or King Street and take the short walk down the hill to Darling Harbour.

Taxi/Uber

Ask to be dropped at King Street Wharf or at the rear of Cockle Bay Wharf.

Light Rail

Exit the light rail from either the Convention Centre or Pyrmont Bay stations.

Walk

5-10 minute walk from CBD down Market Street or King Street.
