Reef Encounter Cairns SSI Open Water Diver Course on Great Barrier Reef 3 Day 2 Night│Diving

• All rates are in AUD, include GST & are valid until 31st march 2024.
• Reef Encounter is a barefoot experience.
• Pricing is per person for double occupancy (additional surcharge applies for single occupancy).
• Accommodation on board : Check-In: 10:00 am / Check-Out: 8:00 am
• If two people book together, they will automatically be arranged to share the same room. Please specify the bed type preference (1 double bed or 2 twin beds) at the time of booking; otherwise, it will be default to 2 twin beds. For solo travelers, room-sharing with a stranger on the board will be arranged (not guaranteed, please wait for the reservation confirmation)
• When placing the order, please provide the following information for each traveler: Full English name, gender, bed type preference, and any dietary restrictions (vegetarian, no beef/pork, allergies, etc.)
• Requirements: Age Limits for scuba diving course : The minimum age for enrolling on a Learn to Dive Course in Australia is 12 years old. Upon completing the course, students aged between 12-14 years will receive a ‘Junior Open Water Dive Licence.
  Persons 15 years old and above will receive a full adult ‘Open Water Diver Licence’. While there is currently no maximum age limit, scuba diving is a potentially strenuous activity and should be undertaken by fit and active people of all ages. (Aforementioned medical and health restrictions apply)
• Our Confidence In You : Our scuba lessons are designed to build each students level of confidence.   Starting in shallow, confined water before progressing to open water. Initially, your training will focus on equipment use, practising skills and developing safe scuba diving habits.At the end of your training places focuses on ensuring each student is confident with their own ability.  Diving independently with the dive skills under the close supervision of your Dive Instructor.During the learn to dive course, you will learn skills such as underwater navigation and being a good dive buddy.
• Flexible Course Options : Choose a three day or four-day course The course can be completed as an intensive 3-day course (2 nights) or in a more relaxed 4-day course (3 nights). Which leaves more time for general relaxation and reef holiday fun. Once you have completed the required number of training dives on a four-day course, all additional dives that you do will be fun dives on the Great Barrier Reef with your new certification. This is a great opportunity to practice your new skills, gain experience and add confidence while having fun.

Therefore their whole job is to look after you!Not only will your training be tailored to your personal needs, but they will also schedule your classes your own requirements – you are their only priority. Whether you’re travelling on your own, as a couple or as a family, there will be a personal Scuba Instructor for every step of your training.  Your valet will also look, after all, your onboard and in-water needs. (One Dive Instructor for each Top Deck booking group)

Luggage Requirements & What to Bring

• Please bring with you only a small to medium overnight bag with personal items: Casual clothes, personal toiletries, sun hat, swimming clothes, sunscreen, sunglasses, medication if needed, jumper/pullover/cardigan as evenings can be cool etc.
• For large luggage pieces that are not required at the reef, we offer a free luggage storage facility at Reef Encounter’s office in the city – 100 Abbott Street, Cairns, Qld 4870. It is about a 15-minute walk to the Cairns Marina from our offices. Office opening times are from 7am – 9pm, 7 days a week. If you have selected a bus pick-up option on the morning of your tour, you may leave any large items with the bus driver who will deliver them to our office storage facility
• For safety reasons, Reef Encounter has a ‘no shoe’ policy. There is no need to bring extra pairs of shoes – socks are great
• Personal dive/snorkel equipment if you would prefer to use your own. While equipment hire is included in your booking, you are welcome to bring any personal dive/snorkel items if you wish to. (Optional extras for hire are wetsuits and prescription lens masks)
• Cash or credit card for purchases
• Proof of certification if you are a Certified Scuba Diver (must be equivalent of Open Water Level or above) – this will be checked by the Dive Supervisor at the start of your trip. All persons intending to scuba dive should read the Scuba Divers Important information page.Read More
