Embark on a captivating journey through Tasmania's stunning landscapes. Meet us at the Tasmanian Travel and Information Centre (20 Davey Street) at your scheduled time. From there, our guided scenic drive will take you through historic Hobart, passing through South Hobart where you'll be greeted by the majestic Mt Wellington and the historic Cascade Brewery, dating back to 1824.

As we venture further, we'll traverse towering Eucalyptus forests and the lush, cool temperate gardens of Ferntree. Enjoy glimpses of Bruny Island and the picturesque Springs.

Next, we pass the Chalet, a rustic dolerite bluestone shelter, and take in the vibrant snow gums, blooming banksia trees, a waterfall, and panoramic views of Hobart. Your guide, David, who studied botany, geology, and water resources at a local university in Hobart, will expertly explain this unique mountain environment. Having explored this mountain since childhood, David has many captivating stories.

As we ascend above the tree line, the wheels continue to climb, offering breathtaking panoramic views. We'll reach the summit, which stands at 1,270 meters (4,180 feet) and is known as the Pinnacle. From here, the vistas become even more awe-inspiring, including views of the mountains within the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area. You'll have 30 minutes of free time to soak in the stunning scenery from the Hobart and South West Wilderness viewing platforms, admire the unique Tasmanian alpine vegetation, and observe the striking rock pillar formations. At the summit, you'll be captivated by the vast expanse of natural beauty stretching as far as the eye can see.

We return to the Tasmanian Travel and Information Centre, taking in more mountain and forest scenery, accompanied by more of David’s engaging stories. The tour concludes two hours later, leaving plenty of time to explore Hobart.
