Embark on an unforgettable adventure, with four days to soak up all the sights and experiences for a bucket list trip to remember on K'gari (formerly Fraser Island).

This package includes two days of 4WD coach touring with an expert local guide who takes you to some secret, hidden gems and all the famous attractions.

Stay one night at K'gari Beach Resort along 75 Mile Beach with pre- and post-night stays at the award-winning Kingfisher Bay Resort. Located on the western bay, take advantage of the beachfront location...take a stroll along the shore, sip a sunset cocktail, with resort dining and ranger-guided activities also on offer.

Optional extras while at Kingfisher Bay Resort include Bush Tucker Talk & Taste sessions, pampering at the Island Day Spa, sunset sessions, west coast eco-marine cruises, and whale watching (August-October). Relax island-side or experience everything there is to see and do – the choice is yours.

DAY 2

• 7:00 am: Breakfast at Sand & Wood restaurant.
• 9:00 am: Prepare overnight belongings – additional luggage can remain in your Kingfisher Bay Resort Hotel Room until your return.
• 9:30 am: Arrive at the Sunset Bar for a prompt departure. A courtesy bus is available from reception.
• 9:45 am: Depart Kingfisher Bay Resort and begin K’gari two-day tour.

Lunch at K’gari Beach Resort.

• 5:30 pm: Arrival and check-in at K’gari Beach Resort.
• 6:30 pm: Dinner at leisure at McKenzie’s on 75 restaurant.
• Pool table and drinks available at McKenzie’s Bar until late.

DAY 3

• 7:00 am: Breakfast at McKenzie’s on 75 restaurant.
• 8:00 am: Tour departure from outside reception.

Picnic lunch on tour, along with morning/afternoon tea.
Depart your final island tour location and return to your Kingfisher Bay Resort accommodation.
Dinner at leisure.
Please note: On departure, if you would like your bags collected by our porter service, please arrange this on day three of your stay.

DAY 4

From 6:30 am: Breakfast at Sand & Wood restaurant.

• Enjoy full access to Kingfisher Bay Resort facilities.
• Return ferry transfer back to the mainland on the barge crossing of your choice*
  (Includes local courtesy drop-offs from River Heads to select locations).
  *Please note: On day four, guests must depart the resort by the final barge at 5:00 pm.

ICONIC LOCATIONS - WHAT YOU WILL SEE

• Lake McKenzie (Boorangoora) – K'gari's most iconic, picture-perfect swimming spot! Immerse yourself in the crystal-clear blue fresh water and relax on the sandy white beaches.
• Central Station - A former logging station that housed schools and shops for the bustling timber industry is now a tourist stop. Stroll along the Wanggoolba Creek boardwalk to discover the ancient King Ferns, towering Flooded Gums and Pine trees.
• Pile Valley - Wander through the subtropical rainforest and marvel at the centuries-old Satinay trees and towering palms.
• 75 Mile Beach - As you travel along this golden beach highway, you may spot dingos, birds of prey flying above, or humpback whales, migrating down the coast (between July – October).
• Eli Creek - Float gently down this tranquil, tree-lined creek with four million litres of fresh water flowing into the Pacific Ocean every hour.
• Maheno Shipwreck - Marvel at the rustic wreck of the Maheno, which washed ashore during an out-of-season cyclone in 1935. It’s one of K’gari’s most recognisable sites.
• The Pinnacles Coloured Sands – Learn about these radiant, cliff-like sand formations and the Indigenous Dreamtime stories that surround them. Get up close and experience the spectacular 72 shades of rare red, orange and yellow sands.
• Indian Head – Cruise past the most easterly point of the island, which is home to marine life such as turtles and rays, often spotted in the waters around the base of this rocky headland.
• Champagne Pools – Take a dip in this amazing natural jacuzzi, as waves crash over the volcanic rock into beautiful bubbling pools.
• Lake Wabby - Trek across the desert-like Hammerstone Sandblow and be rewarded with a panorama of ocean, lake, and forest surrounds, before plunging into this emerald green freshwater oasis. (Please note: this is a 4km return walk through bushland and across soft sands - a moderate fitness level is required. The Lake Wabby walk is an optional activity).

WILDLIFE

Diverse wildlife are present on K’gari, with dingos, birds of prey and whales (July to October) seen on K’gari Explorer Tours. Spot wildlife from our 4WD coaches with custom-built panoramic windows, keeping an eye out for K’gari’s most famous resident – our pure-bred dingos!

Your guide is a K’gari expert with local knowledge and a passion for the destination. You'll explore some of the most beautiful spots and learn fascinating facts about the island's history, flora and fauna. They’ll drive you across the sand tracks and navigate the tides and unique terrain, as you relax in air-conditioned comfort.
