Cruises depart on a daily basis from 9:00 am at the Cultural Centre Pontoon in South Bank(Close to Brisbane City) to arrive at Lone Pine by 10:15 am, and spend 3 hours at the Sanctuary. Arrive back at the Cultural Centre at about 2:45 pm.

How to Get There
The cruise departs from Cultural Centre Pontoon located on the Boardwalk outside the Queensland Art Gallery/GOMA Cultural Precinct at Southbank (boarding from 8:45 am)
  • CATCH THE BUS: Catch a bus that travels on the busway. Get off at the Cultural Centre bus station, South Brisbane and head towards the State Library of Queensland. Make your way to the River front and onto the board walk.
  • ON FOOT (WALKING): Make your way to South Bank and walk along the river on the Board Walk to the front of State Library of Queensland (other side of South Bank and the Victoria Bridge). There you will see the Cultural Centre Pontoon.
  • JUMP IN A TAXI: Take a taxi to the Cultural Centre Tunnel off Stanley Place near the State Library of Queensland. Make your way to the River front and onto the board walk.
  • TRAVEL BY TRAIN: Catch the train to the South Brisbane stop. Head towards the State Library of Queensland and make your way to the River front and onto the board walk.

  • Children under 3 years of age enter for free, but age verification may be required.
  • Comfortable and closed-toe shoes are recommended.
  • On-site koala/wombat photo opportunities cannot be pre-booked and should be purchased on-site if desired.
  • Different operating hours on Anzac Day (4/25) and Christmas Day (12/25).
  • Operating hours may be affected by adverse weather conditions or maintenance activities.
  • Alcohol or any type of illegal drugs are not allowed on the premises.
  • Please refrain from bringing glassware or sharp objects onto the premises.
  • Smoking is strictly prohibited at the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary and is only allowed in designated areas. It is also against Queensland state law to consume any food or beverages in the designated smoking areas.
  • With the exception of approved assistance animals, no other animals are allowed to enter the sanctuary. To arrange your visit with an assistance animal, please email [email protected].
  • Skateboards, scooters, bicycles, rollerblades, skates, or motorized vehicles are not permitted within the sanctuary.
  • The use of any type of noise amplifier, loudspeakers, amplifiers, or musical instruments within the sanctuary is prohibited unless prior approval is obtained.
  • For security purposes, the venue reserves the right to inspect your belongings at any time.
