Tour Information

Combine a relaxing river cruise with a comprehensive vineyard exploration. This "best of both worlds" tour begins with a scenic voyage up the Swan River and continues with a guided coach tour through the heart of the Swan Valley’s finest wineries and breweries.

  • Duration: 7 hours 15 minutes
  • Check-in: Please arrive at Jetty 3 30 minutes prior to departure.
  • Departs: 9:45 am from Barrack St Jetty, Perth.
  • Returns: 5:00 pm to Perth (via coach).

Seasonal Availability

  • November – March: Departs Wednesday through Sunday.
  • April – October: Departs Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Tour Experience

Morning:

Step aboard the River Lady for a 2-hour morning cruise. As you glide away from the city, enjoy the Captain’s commentary and a relaxing morning tea featuring coffee and muffins. As the river enters the upper reaches, the indulgence begins with a cheese and biscuit platter paired with tastings of the "Wines of the Month" from selected Swan Valley vineyards.

Afternoon:

Upon disembarking, you will be met by your driver/guide to transition to an air-conditioned coach for an afternoon of gourmet exploration.

  • Lunch at Homestead Brewery: Enjoy a delicious set lunch served amongst the vines, accompanied by a complimentary glass of beer, wine, cider, or a soft drink.
  • Windy Creek Estate: Visit this premium winery for a guided tasting of their local range.
  • Garbin Estate: Experience a sophisticated wine tasting paired with a gourmet cheeseboard.
  • Swan Valley Brewery: Refresh your palate with a glass of craft beer and light snacks.
  • Whistler’s Chocolate Co: Finish the day with decadent chocolate tastings at this iconic local providore.

Itinerary

  • 9:45 am: Depart Jetty 3, Barrack St Jetty.
  • 10:00 am – 12:00 pm: 2-hour Swan River cruise with morning tea and wine/cheese tastings.
  • 12:05 pm: Set lunch at Homestead Brewery.
  • 1:25 pm: Wine tasting at Windy Creek Estate.
  • 2:20 pm: Wine tasting with cheeseboard at Garbin Estate.
  • 3:15 pm: Craft beer and snacks at Swan Valley Brewery.
  • 3:55 pm: Chocolate tastings at Whistler's Chocolate Co.
  • 4:30 pm: Depart the Swan Valley.
  • 5:15 pm: Arrive back in Perth CBD via coach.

Transportation

Getting to Barrack Street Jetty, Perth, WA
Barrack Street Jetty is only a short stroll from the Perth CBD and is easily accessible by public transport.

Train and Bus

The Elizabeth Quay Train Station and Busport is located 400m from Barrack Street Jetty. Exit the train station/busport on The Esplanade and walk east where you will cross over William Street keep walking until you reach Barrack Street (300m), turn right and head south towards the river (100m) along Barrack Street. Head directly towards the water front by the Bell Tower.

Blue CAT Bus

Take the free CAT bus right to our front door. The blue CAT runs in a north south direction between Barrack Street Jetty (stop 2) and Northbridge all week. Arrival times may vary, you can access live times on the Transperth website.

Ferry

Transperth operates regular ferry services between Elizabeth Quay and Mends Street Jetty (South Perth) all week, perfect for visiting the Perth Zoo.

Parking

You can find a limited number of paid parking bays at Barrack Street Jetty which are available for up to two or three hours at a time. If you need more time at Barrack Street Jetty you can find longer parking options just a short distance away:

Things to Note

  • All per person prices quoted are in Australian dollars.
  • Please check in 20 minutes prior to the departure time.
  • Due to the possibility of high-water levels in the Swan River during periods of rainfall, a coach transfer may be necessary for all or part of your journey to/from the Swan River. A coach substitution may be necessary without advance notice, due to circumstances out of our control.
  • Please enquire at the time of booking with any questions that you may have in regards to allergies or special dietary requirements. Unfortunately, Captain Cook Cruises WA cannot ensure cross-contamination will not occur with foods such as nuts, flour, gluten etc.
  • Please note that mobility access is limited on all Swan River vessels due to the design and construction of the boats. All travellers with mobility constraints are encouraged to contact our reservations team prior to booking to discuss their specific circumstances.
