Cradle Mountain & Dove Lake Day Tour | From Launceston

With its breathtaking natural scenery, Cradle Mountain National Park is one of Tasmania’s most popular tourist destinations.

The crisp mountain air, spectacular landscapes and iconic landmarks offer a refreshing escape. Recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage Area, this pristine wilderness is protected for its unique natural features and global significance, making it a truly memorable place to experience.

The best views of Cradle Mountain are from Dove Lake, where visitors can choose from two walking options:

• A full circuit of Dove Lake, taking approximately 2.5 hours at a steady pace.
• A selection of shorter 30-minute walks, including a visit to the historic Waldheim Chalet.

The group does not need to choose the same activity. The driver will accompany guests opting for the shorter walks and return at the pre-arranged time to collect those completing the Dove Lake circuit.

If time permits, a waterfall and rainforest walk will also be included at the end of the tour for the group to enjoy together.

On the way to Cradle Mountain, the tour stops at Sheffield, the famous "Town of Murals".

On the return journey, the tour includes a special visit to the Ashgrove Cheese Factory.
