Layout

Summertime is a classic timber ketch handcrafted in 1945 by master shipwrights, has a rich history and has been lovingly restored and immaculately maintained in the ultimate sailing comfort. While retaining all of her old world charm, the cabins are well ventilated allowing them to remain cool during tropical nights and the vessel is fitted with a full air-conditioning system for total comfort in summer.

  • Shared single: Single bed (sleeps one person), usually a bunk bed
  • Shared double: Double bed (sleeps two persons), usually with a single bunk on top
  • Private double cabin: One double bed (requires 2 persons) in a private cabin
  • Private twin cabin: Two single beds (requires 2 persons) in a private cabin
  • Triple share cabin: One double bed and one single bed (requires 3 persons) in a private cabin

Sample Itinerary

For 2 days and 1 night you will get to explore the glorious Whitsundays and experience the best parts of the region! Sea Kayaking, sailing and snorkelling will provide an action-packed adventure, leaving you in awe of the deep blue. Summertime also boasts an onboard freshwater hot Jacuzzi, full air conditioning throughout, comfortable berths and nine of the latest inflatable two-person kayaks.  The Whitsundays only eco-friendly 'guided' kayak tour is available on Summertime. Meals prepared fresh on board by our crew, the spacious decks with plenty of shade and the onboard hot tub will make relaxing easy. During your trip, you will get to visit Whitsunday Island, home to Whitehaven Beach and Hill Inlet, as well as the fringing reefs of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. Take part in snorkelling, bushwalking, sailing, kayaking and more!

Whitehaven Beach and Hill Inlet Lookout
Summertime will bring you to the beautiful Whitsunday Island where you will get to visit a world-famous beach and lookout point. Known for the soft, swirling sands and vast shoreline, Whitehaven Beach and Hill Inlet are a must-see for anyone in the Whitsundays! You can take in the view from the top and enjoy the beach from below at this breathtaking destination.

Sailing

Summertime offers the chance to experience real sailing while in the Whitsundays. Certainly not an activity to be missed, your crew will make every effort to make sure you get to enjoy this thrill as you make your way around the islands! Feel the power of the wind as you make your way from one place to the next, enjoying the world as it passes by.

Snorkelling
Snorkel among the colourful and diverse fringing reefs of the Whitsundays and explore all they have to offer! Summertime provides quality snorkelling gear that will allow you to enjoy the reefs in comfort down among the marine life. You will get to stop at several snorkel destinations and compare different reefs, seeing the colourful corals and beautiful fish that inhabit them.

Kayaking and Jacuzzi
Summertime has the added bonus of inflatable kayaks, allowing guests to have a bit of extra fun on the water! Go for a paddle around the reefs on a kayak safari and see them from a new point of view, skimming along the water's surface as you make your way. Afterwards, return back to the boat and hop in the freshwater jacuzzi - a welcome indulgence after a busy day of adventure!

Important Information:
Each passenger must have a clear understanding of safety directions and instructions given in English by the crew and be able to complete the required safety forms in English. A passenger is only able to participate in water activities if they have a level of swimming experience. If a passenger is unable to swim they will still be able to participate in the sailing trip, but will not but able to participate in water activities such as snorkelling. In order to meet our minimum safety standards, passengers must be able to exit the vessel unassisted in the unlikely case of an emergency. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask us.

Minimum Age
Bookings made after December 1st 2022 require a minimum age of 12 to travel.

What To Bring
Please only bring a small overnight bag (large travel cases and cases with wheels not allowed), ensure you pack clothes, a hat, swimwear, beach towel, sunscreen 30+, warm pullover for the evenings (seasonal) and cash/card for onboard purchases. You will also need to bring your own alcoholic beverages, available in town but please no glass bottles.

Day 1
Morning tea: tea and coffee with freshly baked biscuits
Lunch: Fresh rolls, meats, salads, fruit platter, and condiments
Afternoon tea: tea and coffee served with Lamingtons
Sunset snacks: a selection of oven-baked snacks and dipping sauces
Dinner: tender marinated chicken thigh fillets on the BBQ and served with fresh Greek garden salad, green beans, tomato and mushroom pasta bake and garlic bread
Dessert: chocolate Bavarian cheesecake

Day 2
Breakfast: a fresh tropical fruit salad served with yoghurt, raisin or whole wheat toast, cereals, milk, tea and coffee
Morning tea: Tea and coffee served with an assortment of biscuits
Lunch: BBQ hamburgers and sausages served with coleslaw and a fruit platter

Please note this is a sample menu and is subject to change.*Most common special diets and food allergies are catered for if advised upon booking or re-confirmation, but will incur a $10-$18 surcharge. Kosher and Halal diets are unable to be catered for. We reserve the right to change the menu at any time without notice.

Cancellation Policy

25% surcharge if change or cancel after order is placed. No refund if cancel within 30days.
Noticed: If you would like to cancel, please kindly email us to cancel the tour at least 2 business days prior to this cancellation period. Once cancellation is confirmed, you will receive your refund within 7-28 business days.
Cancellation notification needs to be formally replied receipt by us during our office hours as acknowledgement.

NOTE: FIT TRAVEL would adopt suppliers' cancellation policy. Cancellation fees, if any by the suppliers, will be charged according to the supppliers' cancellation policy ( FIT TRAVEL does not charge additional cancellation fees ).
With this specific product's cancellation policy, the suppliers reserve the right of final interpretation.
If your order only pays the deposit of a product: a, if the product has available seats on the departure date and price and contents are the same as the order you placed, the booking would be confirmed by us without additional notification to you, and the deposit is not refundable. b, if the product has no available seats or price or contents are not the same, we might provide alternative options. If you do not agree with the options, the deposit is refundable.
