Skyrail

Skyrail’s Smithfield (Cairns) terminal is located 15 minutes north of Cairns and 50 minutes south of Port Douglas.
Bus transfers are available from selected Cairns City locations.
A one-way journey takes approximately 1 ½ hours including time spent exploring Red Peak and Barron Falls.
Allow 2 ½ hours for a round trip experience.
First departure from Smithfield is at 8:30am and the last one way or round trip experience from Smithfield departs at 1:00pm.

Planning Points

A one-way Kuranda Scenic Railway journey takes approximately 1 ½ hours.
Bus transfers are available from selected Cairns City locations.
Depending on your tour selection, you can start with either Skyrail Rainforest Cableway or Kuranda Scenic Railway.
The morning train departs from Freshwater Railway Station to Kuranda at 8:55am and 9:55am.
The afternoon train departs from Kuranda to Freshwater Railway Station (continuing to Cairns Central Railway Station) at 2:00pm and 3:30pm.
The morning departure is from Freshwater Railway Station only and is not available from Cairns Central Railway Station.

The maintenance and closure schedule for the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway project is as follows, please take note: (During this period, please consider it as a round-trip train package)

From August 28th to August 31st, 2023 (inclusive)
From September 1st to September 3rd, 2023 (inclusive)
December 25th, 2023 (Christmas Day)
Additionally, in 2024, Skyrail Rainforest Cableway will be closed for maintenance on the following dates: From May 6th to May 19th, 2024 (inclusive)
December 25th, 2024 (Christmas Day)
Please note that there may be additional closure dates in 2024 that have not been confirmed yet. Once confirmed, we will provide updates on the website's announcement board.

Cancellation Policy

NOTE: FIT TRAVEL would adopt suppliers' cancellation policy. Cancellation fees, if any by the suppliers, will be charged according to the supppliers' cancellation policy ( FIT TRAVEL does not charge additional cancellation fees ).
If the prodduct can be cancelled within a period of time, please email us at least 2 business days prior to this cancellation date to cancel the product, based on the tour local time zone.
If cancellation is successful, refund would be conducted within 7-28 days.
Cancellation notification needs to be formally replied receipt by us during our office hours as acknowledgement.
