Bike Hire

Pick up a bike direct from Riverlife Adventure Centre at the base of the Kangaroo Point Cliffs and explore over 100kms of routes in and around Brisbane city! Some of our favourite loops take you along the River, through the Botanic Gardens, past Southbank and The Wheel, then along to New Farm park. There are so many beautiful areas to explore, you can’t go wrong!

With flexible hiring options, you can choose between either a half-day (4 hours) or full-day hire. Half-day hires are available throughout the day, so you can choose whatever time suits you best!

If you are looking for more than 4 hours, our full-day option allows you to collect your bikes any time from 9am. Overnight (24-hour) hire is also available for a small additional fee.

All bikes are to be returned at least 15 minutes prior to closing.

Whether you are riding for fun or fitness, bike riding is one of the best budget things to do in Brisbane. See the city sights of Story Bridge, Wheel of Brisbane, Botanic Gardens and more with over 20 km of inner-city bikeways to explore! Take a ride along the river, past the Kangaroo Point Cliffs to South Bank. Then go over the Goodwill Bridge and afterwards onto the off-path cycling through the Botanic Gardens. Continue down to New Farm Park, before returning back to Riverlife.

In case you need a temporary way to exercise now that your gym is closed, consider renting a mountain bike for a week!  Explore Brisbane's more challenging paths on a long ride or uncover hidden trails in your neighbourhood. Check out some of our favourite bike paths, here.

Riverlife's premier location along the Brisbane bikeway on Kangaroo Point and years of tour expertise make it the best bike hire in Brisbane. You can hire bikes and start pedalling right from Riverlife's entrance!

  • The selection of a bicycle size is determined by the rider's height to ensure comfort and efficiency. Although size standards may slightly vary among different brands, here is a general guideline for adult bicycle sizes (small, medium, large) and recommended heights:
    Adult Bicycle Size Chart
Small (S): Suitable for riders with a height of approximately 158cm to 168cm (5'3" to 5'7").
Medium (M): Suitable for riders with a height of approximately 169cm to 180cm (5'7" to 5'11").
Large (L): Suitable for riders with a height of approximately 180cm to 190cm (5'11" to 6'3").
  • Youth and Children's Bicycle Sizes
Children's bicycles are typically categorized by wheel size (inches) rather than using small, medium, large designations like adult bikes. Here is a rough guide based on age and height:
24-inch: Suitable for children with a height of 130cm to 150cm (4'3" to 4'11"), roughly aged 8 to 12 years.
Please note that these are general guidelines. The best practice is to have the rider test ride bikes before purchasing to ensure the best fit. Some stores offer professional sizing and fitting services to help find the most suitable bike for an individual's body proportions.
