We have water refill stations on every vessel and actively participate in coral restoration and reef health monitoring.

Itinerary^

  • 08:15-08:45: Boarding commences at 8.15 am with final boarding at 8.45 am from Cairns Reef Fleet Terminal
  • 09:00: Depart Marlin Jetty Cairns – Travel time is only 90 minutes direct from Cairns on a fast stable motor catamaran
  • 10:30: Arrive at the Reef Magic pontoon on the Outer Great Barrier Reef – Reef Duration: 5 hours
  • 10:45: Start your day on the pontoon with a Glass Bottom Boat tour, this is included in the cost of your ticket! Our Glass Bottom Boat tours run at a variety of times throughout the day, make sure you check the onboard screens to find out the departure times.
  • 12:00: A delicious buffet lunch freshly prepared by the highly awarded & renowned Ochre Restaurant & Tropic Spirit Catering is served on the pontoon. See the general tab on our FAQs page for a full menu
  • 13:00: Check out the Underwater Observatory and our timeline of the Great Barrier Reef. The Great Barrier Reef is home to an abundance of marine life, take a seat and watch the underwater world float by.
  • 13:30: Join us for an intro or certified dive, take a walk in a Sea Trek helmet or take part in a guided snorkel tour with our experienced Marine Biologists.
  • 15:30: Depart Reef Magic Pontoon
  • 17:00: Arrive back in Cairns

Transportation

  • CHECK-IN ADDRESS: Check in directly on the vessel. Marlin Marina, 1 Spence Street, Cairns QLD 4870
  • To streamline the boarding process and expedite embarkation, there is no need to register at the terminal counter (Reef Fleet Terminal). Guests are requested to proceed directly to the Reef Magic Vessels, which will be docked at the departure pier. Crew members will be available at the pier to assist you with boarding.

  • WHAT TO BRING: Swimmers, Towel, Sun protection (SPF 30+ water resistant), Hat, Sunglasses, Camera, Cash/credit card for onboard purchases
  • All trips and activities, prices and schedules are subject to change Included in the total cost is the jetty tax, GST and Environmental Management Charge (EMC). Child Policy: 4 years to 14 years inclusive. Infants 0-3 years are free of charge but must be included when booking. All guests under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Family Policy: 2 adults (+15 years) & 2 children.   • ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT CHARGE (EMC) Inclusive in all marine cruise rates from 1st July 2023, the Environmental Management Charge is vitally important to the management of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park & World Heritage Area.
  • DIVING All diving is subject to successful completion of an on-board medical questionnaire. Certain medical conditions (i.e: asthma) and some medications may exclude individuals from diving. The minimum legal age for diving is 12 years. All divers under 18 years of age must have parent/guardian consent. Certified Divers must produce their certification card. Please note: it is recommended to leave at least 12-24 hours between diving & flying with the time period dependent on depth, duration & number of dives.
  • HELICOPTERS Bookings can be made for individuals, however a minimum of 2 pax is required for heli to operate. Flights are subject to pilot’s discretion, weather, air traffic control and availability. 1 x FOC infant (0-2 years) is permitted per flight when mentioned at time of booking – subject to pilot approval. Accurate passenger weights are requested at time of booking for all helicopter passengers. Please note: child age for all heli flights and packages is 3-14 years.

FAQ

  • Can I bring a camera for the Intro Dive?
    For participants in the Intro Dive who do not hold a scuba diving certification for safety reasons, bringing a camera underwater is strictly not allowed. Participants must have an Open Water Dive License or higher to bring a waterproof camera underwater. However, specific arrangements will be subject to the instructions of the on-board instructors from the boat company. (Snorkeling or booking a second dive on the same day will allow you to take a camera underwater.)
  • What should I be aware when participating deep-sea activities?
    Participation in all deep-sea activities, such as scuba diving, helmet diving, underwater scooter, or other high-intensity activities, requires filling out a health declaration form on the day of departure. After booking, you can request the health reference form from our customer service staff in advance. If your health is deemed unfit for diving or participating in the activities on the day of departure, no refund will be provided.

Cancellation Policy

Free Cancellation if cancel outside 2days. No refund if cancel within 2days.
Noticed: If you would like to cancel, please kindly email us to cancel the tour at least 2 business days prior to this cancellation period. Once cancellation is confirmed, you will receive your refund within 7-28 business days.
Cancellation notification needs to be formally replied receipt by us during our office hours as acknowledgement.

NOTE: FIT TRAVEL would adopt suppliers' cancellation policy. Cancellation fees, if any by the suppliers, will be charged according to the supppliers' cancellation policy ( FIT TRAVEL does not charge additional cancellation fees ).
With this specific product's cancellation policy, the suppliers reserve the right of final interpretation.
If your order only pays the deposit of a product: a, if the product has available seats on the departure date and price and contents are the same as the order you placed, the booking would be confirmed by us without additional notification to you, and the deposit is not refundable. b, if the product has no available seats or price or contents are not the same, we might provide alternative options.   1. Amazing Journey - 物超所值

    Absolutely recommend this for a first-time visit to the reef! The catamaran boat provided a comfortable and smooth journey that day. The crew was fantastic, making the entire trip enjoyable. They even added a touch of local entertainment on the return trip. Lunch was great, and the endless supply of snacks onboard was a nice touch. We participated in various activities like helicopter ride, snorkeling, and helmet diving. Unfortunately, due to the weather no good, canceled the helmet diving last minute, but the refund was processed promptly. The semi-submersible and glass-bottom boat tours are a must-do – you get a clearer view of coral and fish, perfect for snapping some amazing photos. The helicopter ride was out of this world, offering a detailed and entertaining commentary from the flight captain. The crew’s coordination in organizing activities was seamless, ensuring we had time for lunch and rest without clashing with other activities. Truly an enjoyable trip, and kudos to FIT for the excellent recommendation. Great value for money!

  2. Reef cruise

    A fortnight ago, I went snorkelling at the Great Barrier Reef. It was a magnificent experience. The place we went to was easy to reach and the water was practically transparent! The sea was ample with life; we saw many things like fish, octopuses, and even sea turtles swimming alongside us. The wetsuit and mask provided were of high quality and made the experience comfortable and enjoyable, it didn’t leak water in, the mask was thoroughly sanitised and they gave us some tips on how to stop the mask from fogging up. A clear and extensive briefing on how to stay safe was provided before the activity and guides were very experienced in navigating around the snorkelling area. The highlight was the octopus we saw in the coral. The guide knew the octopus and the octopus was very trusting of the guide. My sister thought it was cute. Overall, the scenery underwater was stunning. Aside from the snorkelling activity, food and drinks were also provided, as well as underwater photography services. I highly recommend this to anyone who has yet to do this. This activity will let you see how diverse and beautiful the Great Barrier Reef is.
