Day 1: Adelaide to Melbourne
Board The Overland in Adelaide and settle into your comfortable reclining seat, ready for a scenic journey through South Australia’s lush hills and Victoria’s pastoral landscapes. Departing in the morning, watch the Adelaide Hills unfold, followed by charming regional towns like Murray Bridge, Bordertown, and Horsham. Marvel at the shifting scenery—from golden farmlands to rugged ranges—as you glide toward Melbourne. Enjoy meals and refreshments tailored to your service level, with dedicated hospitality attendants ensuring a warm, welcoming experience. Arrive in Melbourne by evening, concluding your unforgettable rail adventure.
Red Premium
Elevate your journey with Red Premium, offering enhanced comfort and all-inclusive dining. Relax in spacious reclining seats (36 per carriage, two-and-one configuration) with ample legroom and individual reading lights. Enjoy in-seat breakfast, lunch, and afternoon tea, paired with coffee, soft drinks, and juice. Access the licensed Café 828 Carriage for additional purchases.
Luggage Allowance: 2 x 30 kg checked luggage, 10 kg carry-on.
Red Standard
Experience the romance of rail in Red Standard, a value-for-money option with comfortable reclining seats (60 per carriage, two-and-two configuration), generous legroom, and individual reading lights. Visit the licensed Café 828 Carriage for meals, snacks, and beverages available for purchase.
Luggage Allowance: 2 x 20 kg checked luggage.
1. Flexible Fare
Cancellation received at least 24 hours before the start of travel will be refunded in full.
No-shows or cancellations made within 24 hours of departure will incur a 100% cancellation fee.
2. Everyday Fare
Cancellation received more than 45 days before the start of travel: 35% cancellation fee applies.
Cancellation received 45 days or less before the start of travel: 100% cancellation fee applies.
3. Readyrail / Pension Concession Fare
Once tickets have been issued, no changes or cancellations are permitted
The Ghan, Indian Pacific, Great Southern and Overland depart from and arrive into this terminal.

Opening hours: open daily as it services regional coach and train services but our staff are only available on train arrival and departure days (Mondays and Fridays).
Information booth: located at the end of platform 4 – 6:30am – 8:30pm
The Overland arrives and departs from Platform 2. A Hospitality Attendant is situated at the turnstiles from 6:45am. Luggage check in is available from 6am and closes exactly 30 minutes prior to departure.
Guests need to go to the Luggage Hall located near Platform 2 to check in luggage. Guests must have a ticket / smartphone to show their booking confirmation. The Luggage Hall will only check in luggage items. Non-luggage items such as bikes etc. must be taken directly to the train. Guests with non-luggage items are advised to speak to the Hospitality Attendant at the turnstiles.
Travellers Aid is available to assist any guests with mobility issues. It is advisable to pre-arrange the service for guests by calling our Team on 03 9670 2072 Facilities at Southern Cross Station.

NOTE: FIT TRAVEL would adopt suppliers' cancellation policy. Cancellation fees, if any by the suppliers, will be charged according to the supppliers' cancellation policy ( FIT TRAVEL does not charge additional cancellation fees ).
With this specific product's cancellation policy, the suppliers reserve the right of final interpretation.
If your order only pays the deposit of a product: a, if the product has available seats on the departure date and price and contents are the same as the order you placed, the booking would be confirmed by us without additional notification to you, and the deposit is not refundable.
b, if the product has no available seats or price or contents are not the same, we might provide alternative options. If you do not agree with the options, the deposit is refundable.
