~Explore Mount Wellington Tour~

Get an up-close experience of Mount Wellington's rich history, diverse plants, and fascinating geology. This tour skips the hiking, making stops at scenic and historic spots along the mountain, including the summit. You’ll discover much more than what shorter tours offer, with Tasmanian guide David, who brings the mountain to life with his deep local knowledge and engaging stories.

Tour Itinerary:

  • 2:00 PM: Meet at the Tasmanian Travel and Information Centre (20 Davey Street).
  • Begin with a guided scenic drive through historic Hobart, exploring the classic Cascade Gardens, Cascade Brewery (dating back to 1824), and viewing Mount Wellington.
  • Enjoy a brief stroll past the historic Female Factory and the tranquil Hobart Rivulet, home to platypuses.
  • Continue the drive through lush eucalyptus forests to Ferntree, stopping at The Springs for refreshments at the Lost Freight Cafe, and explore the dramatic history at the Springs Hotel Site.
  • Ascend to the Chalet, where you’ll see snow gums, flowering banksia, waterfalls, and views of Hobart.
  • Drive above the tree line to the summit, where you'll have free time to take in breathtaking views of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area and explore unique alpine vegetation and rock formations. Viewing the Pinnacle of Mount Wellington

Tour Ends: Return to the Tasmanian Travel Information Centre by 6:00 PM, just in time for dinner at nearby restaurants.

  • It is highly recommended that infants and younger children be seated in an appropriate child restraint seat (with extension cable). These can be hired locally, or the customer may bring their own. If needing to hire locally, your agent or hotel/concierge may be able to assist you.
  • Infants and children under 7 years must not travel in the first two rows of the coach on a Public Day Tour.
  • Please wait at the designated stop location 10 minutes prior to pick up time.

Cancellation Policy

10% surcharge if change or cancel after order is placed. No refund if cancel within 14days.
Noticed: If you would like to cancel, please kindly email us to cancel the tour at least 2 business days prior to this cancellation period. Once cancellation is confirmed, you will receive your refund within 7-28 business days.
Cancellation notification needs to be formally replied receipt by us during our office hours as acknowledgement.

NOTE: FIT TRAVEL would adopt suppliers' cancellation policy. Cancellation fees, if any by the suppliers, will be charged according to the supppliers' cancellation policy ( FIT TRAVEL does not charge additional cancellation fees ).
With this specific product's cancellation policy, the suppliers reserve the right of final interpretation.
If your order only pays the deposit of a product: a, if the product has available seats on the departure date and price and contents are the same as the order you placed, the booking would be confirmed by us without additional notification to you, and the deposit is not refundable. b, if the product has no available seats or price or contents are not the same, we might provide alternative options. If you do not agree with the options, the deposit is refundable.
