Discover the Wonders of the World's Largest Sand Island! Join our 3days, 2nights tour on Fraser Island. Stay at Kingfisher Bay Resort, depart from Hervey Bay, and embark on thrilling 4WD beach drives, enchanting rainforest walks, and immerse yourself in the extraordinary natural wonders that Fraser Island has to offer!

Day 1: Arrival at Fraser Island

Departure from River Heads to Fraser Island: 6:45am,  9am, 13:00pm, 3:30pm

Upon arrival at Hervey Bay, River Heads, proceed with luggage check-in and take a 45-minute ferry ride to Fraser Island. Check-in at the four-star Kingfisher Bay Resort.

After freshening up, you can take a leisurely stroll along the resort's boardwalk, enjoying the tranquility of the lakeside rainforest. Alternatively, you can swim in the resort's pool creek or participate in various beach activities and guided tours at an additional cost. In the evening, you can head to the jetty cabin to watch the sunset.

Day 2: Fraser Island Beauty Spots Tour

  • Lake McKenzie (Boorangoora): K'gari's most iconic, picture-perfect swimming spot! Immerse yourself in the crystal-clear blue fresh water and relax on the sandy white beaches.
  • Central Station: A former logging station that housed schools and shops for the bustling timber industry is now a tourist stop. Stroll along the Wanggoolba Creek boardwalk to discover the ancient King Ferns, towering Flooded Gums and Pine trees.
  • Pile Valley: Wander through the subtropical rainforest and marvel at the centuries-old Satinaytrees and towering palms.
  • 75 Mile Beach: As you travel along this golden beach highway, you may spot dingoes, birds of prey flying above, or humpback whales, migrating down the coast (between July –October).
  • Eli Creek: Float gently down this tranquil, tree-lined creek with four million litresof fresh water flowing into the Pacific Ocean every hour.
  • Maheno Shipwreck: Marvel at the rustic wreck of the Maheno, which washed ashore during an outof-season cyclone in 1935. It’s one of K’gari’smost recognisablesites.
  • The Pinnacles Coloured Sands: Learn about these radiant, cliff-like sand formations and the Indigenous Dreamtime stories that surround them. Get up close and experience the spectacular 72 shades of rare red, orange and yellow sands.

The tour includes lunch and refreshments, so all you need to pack is your sunscreen, swimwear, and sense of adventure!

Day 3: Free Day

After breakfast, check-out procedures can be completed. If you have time, you can continue to enjoy various facilities within the resort (additional cost), such as fishing, stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), Segway tours for ages 12 and above (weight limit: 50kg - 100kg) at $79, archery for adults at $20 and children at $15 (ages 8 and above), bird watching, or simply relax by the poolside, stroll along the beach and walking trails, and indulge in natural spa massages.

In the afternoon, take the ferry back to Hervey Bay, River Heads. You can either make your own way back or arrange for transportation with CON-X-ION to return to Brisbane or the Gold Coast, concluding your enjoyable journey on Fraser Island.

Kingfisher Bay Resort is a four-star integrated eco accommodation, immersed within the tree-covered dunes along the western bay of K’gari. Self-Driving to Check In Pier : Shop 7/54, River Heads Shopping Village, River Heads Road, River Heads, Queensland 4655 

Hervey Bay is approximately 3 hours by car north of Brisbane, 2.5 hours north of Sunshine Coast and 1.5 hours north of Rainbow Beach. Check-in at our Mainland Reception in River Heads. On Google Maps, this will appear as 54 Ariadne St. After arriving at this location, a courtesy coach will provide transport to the ferry departure point, and you will arrive directly at Kingfisher Bay Resort and board our custom 4WD coach.

10:59-11:20Secure Car Park Facilities: The secure facility is located adjacent to our River Heads Reception. Bookings are highly recommended

Journey time: 60 mins (approx)
  1. Transportation Options: You can choose to take the free on-island small train shuttle or walk to the hotel lobby, which is about a 5-7 minute walk.
  2. From Brisbane: If you're driving from Brisbane Airport or the city, it takes about a relaxed 3.5-hour drive to reach Fraser Island. If you're coming from the Gold Coast, the journey takes approximately 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can book a round-trip shuttle bus to River Heads.
  3. Self-Driving Directions to River Heads Ferry Terminal: You can head to the address of the River Heads Ferry Terminal: Shop 7/54, River Heads Shopping Village, River Heads Road, River Heads, Queensland 4655. Note that a part of River Heads Road has been renamed to Ariadne Street. The GPS coordinates are: 25° 25’ 20.316 / 152° 55’ 1.479.
  4. Parking: There's a secure monitored parking area available at the ferry terminal, open from 8 am to 6:30 pm. At the registration entrance, staff will provide you with a security code to access the parking area. It's recommended to call in advance to make a reservation at +61 7 4194 9300 or 1800 072 555 (within Australia). Parking fees are based on the number of nights: $25 for one night, $45 for two nights, $65 for three nights, $85 for four nights, $105 for five nights, and $125 for six nights.
  5. Resort Ferry Schedule: If you need the ferry schedule, please provide the desired departure time. If no specific time is provided, the system will automatically arrange the default ferry schedule for you.
  6. Optional upgrade for one-way transfer from Hervey Bay Airport / Optional upgrade for one-way transfer from Hervey Bay City.

  • This package is suitable as part of a self-drive itinerary.
  • To best assist with room allocation, please advise if guests are elderly or suffer any walking difficulties.
  • The full day Beauty Spots Tour will be booked for day 2 of the stay, unless otherwise specified.
  • Room upgrade options to Spa, King, King Bay or Family rooms are available, please ensure the correct package code associated to the room type, is used.
  • Queensland law states that on tour, all passengers must be suitably restrained including infants. Regulations do not allow children to be nursed in a vehicle. We request guests supply their own baby/booster seats. If unable to supply own seats, please advise our Reservations team at time of booking (limited seats available)
  • Infants under the age of 1 year are unable to travel on tours.
  • Stays beyond the minimum nights will only be accepted at the 'extra night' rate per package.
  • Once a booking is confirmed by KBRV Resort Operations Pty Ltd Reservations Team.
  • the applicable cancellation policy is enforceable – no grace period applies.
  • A request for a reduction in the number of nights stayed is considered a cancellation.
  • Change to arrival dates will be permitted on one (1) occasion if the request is made prior to the respective cancellation policy.
  • Additional date changes may attract fees. o Alterations to arrival/departure details are strictly subject to availability and at the sole discretion of KBRV Resort Operations Pty Ltd.
  • no show will attract a fee equivalent to 100% of the booking value regardless of the season in which it is booked for travel.

WHAT TO BRING

  • Pack luggage for two nights on K’gari (Fraser Island).
  • Pack a day bag to access during touring days with swimmers, a towel, a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, comfortable walking shoes or thongs, sunglasses, essential medication and don’t forget your camera.
  • We do provide water, but a reusable water bottle is always handy and great for the environment.

Cancellation Policy

25% surcharge if change or cancel after order is placed. No refund if cancel within 30days.
Noticed: If you would like to cancel, please kindly email us to cancel the tour at least 2 business days prior to this cancellation period. Once cancellation is confirmed, you will receive your refund within 7-28 business days.
Cancellation notification needs to be formally replied receipt by us during our office hours as acknowledgement.

NOTE: FIT TRAVEL would adopt suppliers' cancellation policy. Cancellation fees, if any by the suppliers, will be charged according to the supppliers' cancellation policy ( FIT TRAVEL does not charge additional cancellation fees ).
With this specific product's cancellation policy, the suppliers reserve the right of final interpretation.
If your order only pays the deposit of a product: a, if the product has available seats on the departure date and price and contents are the same as the order you placed, the booking would be confirmed by us without additional notification to you, and the deposit is not refundable. b, if the product has no available seats or price or contents are not the same, we might provide alternative options.
