Day 1: Hobart to Queenstown

Begin at the vibrant Salamanca Market, where you can enjoy a delicious breakfast and browse local handicrafts. Leaving Hobart, your wilderness journey starts at Mount Field National Park, walking beneath some of the world’s tallest trees and visiting the stunning Russell Falls. Continue west to Lake St Clair, Australia’s deepest freshwater lake, before travelling through the rugged landscapes of Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park. As you head further west, pass sweeping buttongrass plains and take in breathtaking views around Queenstown, once a historic mining hub and now a lively West Coast destination.

Day 2: Gordon River Cruise to Tullah

Travel to the harbourside village of Strahan and embark on a scenic cruise along the majestic Gordon River, immersing yourself in Tasmania’s wilderness. Cruise through Macquarie Harbour and Hells Gates, the narrow entrance to the Southern Ocean. Step ashore at historic Sarah Island, a former penal settlement, before heading upriver into the rainforest. Stroll along the boardwalk beneath ancient Huon pines, some more than a thousand years old, and enjoy lunch on board showcasing Tasmanian produce. Later, continue to the lakeside town of Tullah, where, on clear days, Mount Murchison reflects across Lake Rosebery. End the day with a group dinner and relax in a lakeside chalet.

Day 3: Tullah to Launceston via Cradle Mountain

Experience the iconic Cradle Mountain–Lake St Clair National Park, part of the UNESCO Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area. Your guide will outline several walking options to suit different fitness levels. At Ronny Creek, look for wombats along the boardwalk, while at Dove Lake you can enjoy the stunning six-kilometre circuit, a two- to three-hour walk around the glacial lake framed by towering mountains and alpine vegetation. You may prefer a shorter stroll to Glacial Rock for valley views or to the iconic Boat Shed. Continue to the “Town of Murals,” Sheffield, before arriving in Launceston in northern Tasmania.

Day 4: Bay Of Fires to St Helens

Take a leisurely walk in Cataract Gorge, a scenic nature reserve along the South Esk River, with fern-lined paths, a suspension bridge, and panoramic lookouts. From here, travel through rolling farmlands and quaint townships toward Tasmania’s East Coast. At the Larapuna/Bay of Fires, discover bright white sands, vivid turquoise waters, and striking orange-hued granite boulders—a spectacular change in scenery. Soak in the serenity of this coastal paradise before continuing to St Helens, a charming fishing town known for its fresh seafood and coastal beauty.

Day 5: Freycinet National Park to Eaglehawk Neck

Freycinet National Park is a coastal treasure, with secluded bays, pristine beaches, and lush woodland forests. At Honeymoon Bay, admire the striking pink granite peaks of the Hazards Mountains. Hike to the renowned Wineglass Bay Lookout for unforgettable views of its perfect crescent-shaped beach, one of Tasmania’s most photographed landscapes. Then, visit Cape Tourville for sweeping panoramas of the Tasman Sea and rugged coastline. As you continue south, the scenery changes dramatically, arriving at Eaglehawk Neck, a narrow isthmus and the gateway to the spectacular Tasman Peninsula.

Day 6: Eaglehawk Neck to Hobart

Discover the geological wonders of the Tessellated Pavement, Tasman Arch, and Devil’s Kitchen within the dramatic coastal landscapes of Tasman National Park. Visit a conservation sanctuary to encounter Tasmanian devils and other native wildlife up close. Step back in time at Port Arthur, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Australia’s best-preserved penal settlement, where you can explore atmospheric ruins, historic buildings, and colonial gardens. On the return to Hobart, stop at the historic village of Richmond and travel through the picturesque Coal River Valley, completing your unforgettable Tasmanian journey.
