FOUR DAY ONE NIGHT PADI OPEN WATER COURSE

There’s nowhere better than the Great Barrier Reef to learn to dive! If you want to complete your PADI Open Water Diver training in just four days, but also include an overnight experience, this dive course is designed for you.

Spend your first two days at our purpose-built, five-star dive training centre in Cairns, then develop your dive skills on a once in a lifetime overnight experience adventure on board our liveaboard vessel OceanQuest. Our world class instructors will make sure you’re thoroughly trained in theory and in the pool before you set out for the reef.

During your overnight trip, we choose amazing sites at Saxon, Norman and Hastings reefs, so you’ll experience all the colourful treasures at these Cairns Great Barrier Reef dive locations as you gain valuable dive experience.

Spending the night at the Great Barrier Reef and waking to sunrise on the water, knowing you’re about to become a PADI certified diver is a thrill like no other! After you’ve completed all your training dives you’ll also have the chance to take your first ‘fun dive’ before returning to Cairns.

4DAY1NIGHT PADI OPEN WATER COURSE Itinerary as below : 

Day 1 : Pool & Theory

9am: Pick up from your Cairns city accommodation
Morning: Meet your instructor, complete paperwork and begin your PADI Open Water dive theory. Lunch is not included on pool days, but you can bring a packed lunch (there are kitchen facilities at our dive centre) or there are plenty of places to eat nearby.
Afternoon: Begin your scuba skills training in the pool
5.15pm: Tread water test
5.30pm: Drop off at Cairns city accommodation

Day 2 : Pool & Theory

9am: Pick up from Cairns city accommodation.
Morning: Continue developing your scuba skills in the pool and complete 200m swim test. Don your wetsuit and equipment for more skills training.
Afternoon: Finish and review scuba theory, finish with a multiple choice exam
5.30pm: Drop off at Cairns city accommodation

Day 3 : Great Barrier Reef (overnight)

7.30am-8am: Pick up from Cairns city accommodation, check in at the dive centre and shuttle to Cairns Marlin Marina for your day trip
8.30am: Set off for the reef! During your 90-minute cruise to the outer reef, your instructor will give you a full briefing.
11.30am: Arrive at the reef
12pm: Lunch is served
1pm: Time for your first dive
3pm: Second dive
6pm: Relax, enjoy the views from on deck and sit down to a delicious dinner served by our on board chef.
6.30pm: If conditions permit, you may have the chance to enjoy our exclusive Sharks in the Dark experience!
8pm: Dessert
10pm: Bar closes

Day 4 : Great Barrier Reef / Cairns

7.30am: Wake up to sunrise on the reef – a magical sight! Enjoy a delicious hot breakfast.
8.30am: Third training dive.
10.30am: Complete your final training dive – you’re now a certified PADI Open Water Diver!
12pm: Checkout
12.30pm: Lunch
2.30pm: Board our transfer vessel and return to Cairns Marina and your accommodation.

5 Days PADI OPEN WATER COURSE

Same as 4D1N Course but upgraded to 5D2N, you will have extra 1Day & 1 Night to enjoy the reef.

6 DAY PADI OPEN WATER & ADVANCED COURSE

With nine training dives and six extra fun dives, this Great Barrier Reef dive course sets you up to continue your diving adventures around the world.

Spend two days tackling the theory and pool training at our five-star PADI Dive Centre, then head to the outer reef for a four-day three-night stay on our liveaboard vessel OceanQuest.

During your course you’ll pack in as many as 15 dives (including two at night). Explore the Great Barrier Reef and see everything from colourful corals, anemones, Nemos, sharks, rays, turtles and nudibranchs at our outer reef dive sites, while you gain skills and experience as a scuba diver.

By the end of your six-day dive course you’ll have not only your PADI Open Water Diver certification but also your PADI Advanced Open Water certification. This means you’ll be qualified to explore depths of up to 30m!

In between dives, relax in comfort on board OceanQuest. Soak up the sun and the views on deck, fuel up for your next dive with tasty meals prepared by our onboard chef and sleep soundly in your air-conditioned cabin with full en suite.

7.30am: Wake up with the Great Barrier Reef! Nothing beats watching the sunrise from a sun lounger – except the delicious hot breakfast that follows.
Then it’s time for your fourth and final dive of the Open Water course. Congratulations, you’re now officially a PADI Open Water Diver!
Celebrate with your first pleasure dive, exploring the treasures of the reef as a qualified diver for the first time, before breaking for lunch.
In the afternoon, complete a Peak Performance Buoyancy dive and fine-tune your buoyancy skills.
6pm: Dinner
6.30pm: Head back into the water for night dive training. Your instructor will guide you through the skills needed to dive in the dark, something that will stand you in good stead for future explorations.
8pm: Dessert
10pm: Bar closes

Day 5 : Great Barrier Reef

7.30am: Wake up with the Great Barrier Reef! Nothing beats watching the sunrise from a sun lounger – except the delicious hot breakfast that follows.
Then it’s time for your fourth and final dive of the Open Water course. Congratulations, you’re now officially a PADI Open Water Diver!

Day 6 : Great Barrier Reef / Cairns

Make the most of the views this morning, as it’s your last day out on the reef.
During the morning you’ll have two last dives – depending on instructor availability these will either be fun dives or your final training dive. Congratulations, you are now an Advanced Open Water diver, affectionately known as AOW!
Then it’s time for one last lunch and to pack your belongings as we head back to Cairns, arriving around 4.30pm.

  • The basic price is for shared instruction and guidance with 6-8 people on the boat. The option to hire a private 1-on-1 instructor at an additional cost - $120 per dive / $650 per day.

Notices

  • All prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD).
  • It is recommended to book this course at least 10 business days in advance for better arrangements and availability .
  • For individual registrations, please book a twin room. We will arrange roommates for you.
  • Participants must be at least 18 years old. Teenagers aged 12-17 can join the course with parental consent and signature.
  • 4-day Open Water Course package includes 1 overnight stay on the boat
  • 5-day package includes 2 overnights, 6-day package includes 3 overnights
  • PADI international diving certification will be issued. "ReefQuest/OceanQuest" yacht will be used for the entire journey, featuring overnight diving practice on the outer reef.
  • Other language materials/book  can be provided, please inform FIT customer service.
  • This is an English-only course and requires good English communication skills. No the language instructor services, Only Fully English course can be provided
  • Swim test must be passed to proceed the diving course, A swimming ability of 200 meters or more is required for obtaining an Australian SCUBA Diving Course. If the swimming skill test is not passed on the first day, and diving activities cannot continue, a 20% handling fee will be charged.
  • Day 1 / Day 2 Pool/Theory Days :  Lunch will not be provided in Diving Center(Must BYO) . Other Days onboard : Meals and accommodations are provided on the cruise.
  • Please bring swimwear, sunscreen, towels, slippers, seasickness medication, notebook, etc.
  • Advanced diving course available: PADI - Rescue 4-5 days overnight boat course. Please contact us for more quotes.
  • Accommodation for overnight cruise : Double Bed Ensuite for double rooms / Twin Bed Ensuite for twin rooms (both with private bathrooms).
  • FAQ - Can I bring a camera for Intro Dive?
    Carrying a waterproof camera underwater is allowed only if you have an Open Water Dive License or higher. However, specific regulations will be informed by the onboard instructors.
  • For Scuba diving or other high-intensity activities, a health declaration form must be completed on the day of departure. You can request a health reference form from our customer service upon booking. If you are deemed unfit on the departure day, you cannot participate and a refund will not be provided.
  • Spoken Languages
    - English is the language spoken on board our tours
    - We have staff than can communicate in various languages, please contact us is you have specific requirements.
    - We in no way guarantee any spoken language other than English, unless otherwise pre-arranged agreement has been made
  • Luggage Recommendation: It is strongly advised to bring only essential items in an overnight bagpack on board. Please try to avoid bringing large suitcases. You can store large suitcases at Dive company's office (storage service may be available when we pick you up on the first day).
