Our sunrise flights over the Byron Bay region – Australia’s most easterly point – give you the unique opportunity to be among the first to witness the morning's sunrise over the Australian mainland from the air.

Meet-up time: 4:30 am - 5:00 am (90 minutes before sunrise, exact time provided after booking)

The magnificent Byron Bay region is located just under an hour south of Gold Coast Airport on the Far North Coast of New South Wales. From Byron Bay, take the Ewingsdale Road west toward the Pacific Motorway. At the southbound motorway entrance roundabout, turn right on Woodford Lane, then right again into The Farm.

The meeting time for the Balloon Aloft flight is about 45 minutes before sunrise (4:30-5:40 am). After booking their flight, passengers will receive an inquiry phone number to call the evening before their flight date to confirm the exact collection time. Hot air balloon flights depend on weather conditions. For the safety of passengers, we will suspend the flight program in some unfavourable weather conditions (for example, strong winds, rain or fog).

Notices

  • It is recommended to wear clothing suitable for walking or hiking, enclosed waterproof shoes, a hat, sunglasses, and your camera
  • Children need to be ages 7 or above and require an accompanying adult to fly. They will also need to be at least 120 cm tall so they can see over the top of the basket. Please also keep in mind that the burner noise can be a bit frightening to young children
  • The weight limit for each individual is 140 kg, and 50 kg for children
  • The pilots and crew will be on hand to welcome you when you arrive at Peterson's Champagne House at the designated time
  • The pilots check the morning's local wind conditions in readiness for your flight. Please listen while they give you a short flight brief
  • Travellers who have the following diseases or conditions that are not suitable for excessive stimulation should not participate in this activity.
    Pregnancy, Cardiac disease, High blood pressure, Acrophobia
  • Hot air ballooning relies on suitable weather conditions to proceed safely. Similarly, the tour may be postponed due to less than the minimum number of passengers being achieved. If your balloon flight has been cancelled, a partial refund will be provided
  • All passengers are required to be fit and well, with no significant knee, hip, or back problems, broken bones, recent surgeries, or pregnancy, and the ability to stand unassisted for 1 hour
  • Please call +61-02-4990-9242 ext. 2 between 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm 1 day before the day of the tour to confirm the meeting details
  • If you encounter any problems, please call +61-02-4990-9242 for assistance (service hours: 9:00 am–4:00 pm, Monday–Friday)
  • Fee-Related: The same price applies to all ages in AUD.
  • When booking, please provide each passenger’s full name, weight, contact number, address, and email address
  • If the guest chooses "refundable ticket", if the flight is cancelled due to weather conditions, they can rebook or apply for a refund. The refund and change policy for children is the same as that for accompanying adult tickets.
  • Try to wear sports shoes and long pants and long clothes. Skirts, high heels, slippers, etc. are not suitable.

Important update to check in procedure

We would like to inform you of an important update to the check-in procedure. The check-in process has changed from requiring you to call the check-in line to using email and text message notifications.
You will no longer need to call the check-in line to confirm the meeting time. All necessary information will be provided via email and text message. Please provide the correct email address and mobile phone number to make sure you receive all flight updates.

Cancellation Policy

25% surcharge if change or cancel after order is placed. No refund if cancel within 3days.
Noticed: If you would like to cancel, please kindly email us to cancel the tour at least 2 business days prior to this cancellation period. Once cancellation is confirmed, you will receive your refund within 7-28 business days.
Cancellation notification needs to be formally replied receipt by us during our office hours as acknowledgement.

NOTE: FIT TRAVEL would adopt suppliers' cancellation policy. Cancellation fees, if any by the suppliers, will be charged according to the supppliers' cancellation policy ( FIT TRAVEL does not charge additional cancellation fees ).
With this specific product's cancellation policy, the suppliers reserve the right of final interpretation.
If your order only pays the deposit of a product: a, if the product has available seats on the departure date and price and contents are the same as the order you placed, the booking would be confirmed by us without additional notification to you, and the deposit is not refundable. b, if the product has no available seats or price or contents are not the same, we might provide alternative options. If you do not agree with the options, the deposit is refundable.
