What is Fitzroy Island?

Unlike smaller coral cays or sandy islands on the Great Barrier Reef, Fitzroy was once part of mainland Australia. The island is largely untouched and a protected National Park, with walking tracks through the rainforest, heathland and open forest to Nudey Beach and the Summit.

Home of Nudey Beach

Nudey Beach on Fitzroy Island is the #2 top-ranked spot on Brad Farmer’s list of Australia’s 101 Best Beaches for 2017.

Mr Farmer said Nudey Beach is “probably the loveliest island we have where a lush, protected rainforest meets a colourful reef – and it’s the Great Barrier Reef”.

The founder of Ocean Care Day and the Surfriders Foundation, Mr Farmer spent five months researching Australia’s 11,761 beaches to compile his list.

Transportation

  • Passengers are no longer required to check in inside The Reef Fleet Terminal.
  • Guests travelling to Fitzroy Island can now check in directly at the vessel based on Finger A, Marlin Wharf. Guests will receive an email and SMS message the afternoon prior to their day of travel outlining everything they need to know.
  • This includes a map of the marina and where the vessels are located.

Notices

  • ALL RATES ARE IN AUSTRALIAN DOLLARS, INCLUDE GST & ARE VALID UNTIL 31st MARCH 2024.
  • Infants 0-3 travel free on our Full Day Great Barrier Reef Tours but must be pre-booked. Prices and bonus March offer valid to 31st March 2024. Total price includes a levy of $5 per person for recovery of Fitzroy Island facilities licence fees, admin costs & charges.

Additional Information

  • If selecting the half-day trip with lunch, please specify if you would prefer a hot or cold lunch at the time of booking. If no preference is given, guests will receive the cold option (sandwich and wrap)

Cancellation Policy

Free Cancellation if cancel outside 24hours. No refund if cancel within 24hours.
Noticed: If you would like to cancel, please kindly email us to cancel the tour at least 2 business days prior to this cancellation period. Once cancellation is confirmed, you will receive your refund within 7-28 business days.
Cancellation notification needs to be formally replied receipt by us during our office hours as acknowledgement.

NOTE: FIT TRAVEL would adopt suppliers' cancellation policy. Cancellation fees, if any by the suppliers, will be charged according to the supppliers' cancellation policy ( FIT TRAVEL does not charge additional cancellation fees ).

    Booked a day boat return trip with my friend and it was great. Highly recommend to go to Fitzroy Island, you can do ocean and hiking activities there and see many turtles! Recommend to do a day trip there!
