Explore the Whitsundays aboard Providence V, a traditional schooner operated by an Australian family. This day sail combines Whitehaven Beach, Hill Inlet Lookout and snorkelling on a fringing reef.

The daily voyage takes you to Tongue Bay, where you can walk to Hill Inlet Lookout for sweeping views of Whitehaven Beach’s white sand and turquoise water. Back on board, help hoist the sails under the crew’s guidance or relax on deck as you sail through the islands.

You’ll also stop at a Whitsundays fringing reef to snorkel among coral and marine life, with the chance to spot Māori wrasse. The day sail includes complimentary pick-up from local accommodation, snorkelling equipment and stinger suits when in season.

About the Vessel | Providence V

Providence V is a 62-foot Gloucester schooner modelled on a traditional Grand Banks fishing boat. Built using North Queensland timber, she features quandong masts, a red mahogany hull, penda frames and a silver ash interior.

Sail to Whitehaven Beach, known for its fine white sand and clear turquoise water. After time ashore, return to Providence V before heading to a nearby fringing reef for snorkelling. A picnic lunch is available if you have selected the lunch-inclusive package.

Along the way, you may spot turtles and dolphins. Humpback whales may also be seen from June to September, when they visit the Whitsundays to give birth and raise their calves. Sightings depend on conditions and cannot be guaranteed.

Whether you choose to help the crew handle the sails and lines or simply unwind on deck, Providence V offers a memorable way to experience the Whitsundays.
