Our 2025 Whale Watching Season runs from 15 August to 9 November

Experience the awe-inspiring southern migration of the Humpback Whale with a 2-hour whale watching tour departing from Hillarys Boat Harbour. From late August through November, catch sight of these magnificent mammals frolicking off the Sunset Coast.

Departure Schedule

The tour operates on the following schedule:

  • 9:00 am Session: Runs Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday throughout the entire season.
  • 12:00 pm Session: Runs Monday, Saturday, and Sunday, but only during September and October.

Special Operating Period: Tours operate every day during the school holidays, which run from 27th September to 12th October 2025.

All tours are led by our group of local marine biologists who provide live, educational commentary to enrich your experience.

Our expert guides and crew, well-versed in the nuances of whale behaviour and the local marine ecosystem, are dedicated to ensuring that you not only witness this incredible natural spectacle but also gain a deeper understanding of these magnificent creatures and the importance of their conservation.

Tour Details

  • Season Dates: The 2025 season runs from Friday, 15th August 2025 until Sunday, 9th November 2025. (Please note the season may end earlier depending on whale activity).
  • Duration: Approximately 2 Hours.
  • Expert Commentary: All tours feature live and educational commentary from a local Marine Biologist.
  • Vessel: Air-conditioned, state-of-the-art vessel with three viewing decks and a licensed bar/snack service.

100% Whale Sighting Guarantee

If whales are NOT sighted on any tour, passengers are entitled to join us again free of charge.

  • The return trip must be taken within the same whale season (September – November 2025).
  • If your original travel date is in the last two weeks of the season, you may re-book for the next season.

  • All prices are per person and quoted in Australian dollars (AUD).

  • Concession fares are available for guests holding a valid Australian-issued Senior or Full-Time Student Concession ID.

  • Please ensure the full English names of all passengers are provided at the time of booking.

  • Please note the customers "can-not" bring big luggage cases onto the bus, they must be able to sit these on their laps.

    It is one of our most frequently asked questions! “What if we don’t see whales?” – If on any tour whales are NOT sighted, passengers are entitled to join us again free of charge. The return trip must be within the same whale season (August– November). If travel is in the last two weeks of the season, you may re-book for the next season.

Cancellation Policy

15% surcharge if change or cancel after order is placed. No refund if cancel within 3days.
Noticed: If you would like to cancel, please kindly email us to cancel the tour at least 2 business days prior to this cancellation period. Once cancellation is confirmed, you will receive your refund within 7-28 business days.
Cancellation notification needs to be formally replied receipt by us during our office hours as acknowledgement.

NOTE: FIT TRAVEL would adopt suppliers' cancellation policy. Cancellation fees, if any by the suppliers, will be charged according to the supppliers' cancellation policy ( FIT TRAVEL does not charge additional cancellation fees ).
