Come aboard this spectacular 2hr coastal wildlife cruise, and experience an up-close encounter with thousands of seals at Australia’s largest fur seal colony

Seal Rocks is situated 2kms off the rugged southwest coast of Phillip Island. The boat drifts within meters of the seals, enabling you to witness them in their natural environment firsthand. It is impossible not to be captivated by these naturally playful and inquisitive animals, as they regularly approach the boat for a closer look at you!

Along the way, you’ll be enthralled by the beautiful coastline and learn all about the history of Phillip Island’s western shoreline.

Summer - Breeding Season

Bull seals return to Seal Rocks. Territorial behavior and fighting amongst mature bulls is a common sight.

Adult female seals give birth to one pup, peaking around mid December with up to 4000 pups being born here. Newborn learn to swim in rock pools and their bleating can be heard loud and clear as the pups call out for their mothers.

Juveniles now practicing their hunting and dive moves, sometimes clearing the water as they leap out of the water!

Things to Note

  • All prices are quoted in Australian dollars and include GST
  • During busy periods such as school holidays and weekends, please allow extra time for parking at your departure location.
  • This tour travels into open waters and vessel motion may occur at times, taking motion sickness tablets is recommended.
  • For passengers’ safety, the front deck (bow) is restricted to persons over 1 metre tall.
  • Make sure you dress warmly for the cruise - warm jackets, scarves, beanies and gloves are recommended. And don't forget your camera!
  • Tours operate daily except Christmas Day, however, bookings are essential as places are subject to availability.
  • For the majority of days, the cruise is quite suitable for pregnant women and we have had lots do our trip. Our boats are custom-built for the coastline that we cruise along. They are able to remain quite stable even with the waves. It is a good idea to take into account the weather conditions on the day of the cruise as this will affect comfort levels for someone who is heavily pregnant. You can contact us a day or two ahead to get a weather report for the day of your cruise and we are happy to move or cancel bookings if it is not looking suitable for you.
  • Should I take sea sickness tablets? Yes, recommend for easy motion sickness passengers

If you do not agree with the options, the deposit is refundable.
