Discover culture, traditions and island flavours on beautiful Minjerribah, with Matt Burns and Straddie Brewing Co

Journey across the bay with SeaLink, join Quandamooka Elder Matt Burns on the Goompi Trail, and hear stories of culture, family and Country brought to life through artefacts, traditions and bush knowledge. Finish your day with rooftop dining and handcrafted brews at Straddie Brewing Co, with stunning views over the island.

Upon arrival, make your way along the Dunwich foreshore to meet Quandamooka Elder Matt Burns at Polka Point. Matt will guide you on the Goompi Trail, sharing stories of culture, family history, bush foods and traditional medicines. Along the way, you’ll see live demonstrations of traditional artefacts, fire making and spear throwing, and may even spot local wildlife.

After your guided experience, continue exploring Dunwich at your own pace before finishing the day with rooftop dining at Straddie Brewing Co, where food and drink is included ($50 for Adults, $30 for Kids).

Once launched, The Goompi Trail tour will operate on Fridays.

Your ticket is valid on all SeaLink passenger ferry services, so you can choose the times that work best for you. We recommend the listed departure times below to ensure you meet Matt at Polka Point for the tour and still have plenty of time for lunch.

If you’re already on the island, you can join the tour directly from Polka Point in Dunwich by 11am.

  • Final meeting point will be confirmed in your booking confirmation email. Please follow the instructions in the confirmation for the exact departure and meeting locations.

  • All prices are in AUD
  • Prices are per person and valid for travel from 1 August 2025 to 30 July 2026

  • Children are 4–14 years, infants 0–3 years travel free
  • Itinerary and inclusions may change without notice, especially in wet weather
  • Please advise Straddie Brewing Co of any dietary requirements upon arrival
  • This tour involves walking on mixed terrain including grass, sand, inclines and declines; please consider your mobility before booking
  • On-island tours do not include mainland transfers or ferry travel
  • The tour begins and ends at Polka Point in Dunwich, and guests must make their own way to the meeting point

Cancellation Policy

15% surcharge if change or cancel after order is placed. No refund if cancel within 3days.
Noticed: If you would like to cancel, please kindly email us to cancel the tour at least 2 business days prior to this cancellation period. Once cancellation is confirmed, you will receive your refund within 7-28 business days.
Cancellation notification needs to be formally replied receipt by us during our office hours as acknowledgement.

NOTE: FIT TRAVEL would adopt suppliers' cancellation policy. Cancellation fees, if any by the suppliers, will be charged according to the supppliers' cancellation policy ( FIT TRAVEL does not charge additional cancellation fees ).
With this specific product's cancellation policy, the suppliers reserve the right of final interpretation.
If your order only pays the deposit of a product: a, if the product has available seats on the departure date and price and contents are the same as the order you placed, the booking would be confirmed by us without additional notification to you, and the deposit is not refundable. b, if the product has no available seats or price or contents are not the same, we might provide alternative options. If you do not agree with the options, the deposit is refundable.
