Scale 134 meters up the Sydney Harbour Bridge and treat yourself to one of the most exhilarating experiences in Australia. Climb to the Summit with an experienced Climber Leader and full safety gear. Feel the adrenaline as you see unparalleled city views from the summit. Admire the beauty of the Australian landscape—from the iconic sails of the Sydney Opera House to the historic Rocks neighbourhood. Check out the ferries cruising in and out of the harbour and docking at Circular Quay.

Pick the Twilight Session for a spectacular sunset climb and photo-op, or challenge yourself to take the Night Session and witness the dazzling city lights from the bridge's height.

Climb Option 1：Summit 3hrs - Daytime Session / Night Session / Twilight Session

[ Summit climb - 3 hours ]

Walk along the upper arch and reach the summit (1,332 steps)

Latching on at the Climb Base below the Bradfield Highway, you will walk below the road deck until you reach the South-East Pylon. There you will go up four ladders to the start of the upper arch. With the Summit in sight, your journey continues along the Bridge’s upper arch on the Opera House side until you hit the top. After a Summit celebration with your group, you will cross to the west side to make your descent to Climb Base.

  • Climb to the Summit in safety gear and follow a Climber Leader
  • Watch the sunset over the Sydney skyline in the Twilight session
  • Challenge yourself to scale the Sydney Harbour Bridge at nighttime, and be rewarded with a bird's-eye view of the dazzling city lights
  • Reference for trip times:  8 am-9 am / 9 am-10 am / 11 am-12 pm / 12 pm-1 pm / 1 pm - 2 pm / 2 pm - 3 pm / 3 pm - 4 pm / 5 pm - 6 pm

Climb Option 2：ULTIMATE Conquer the entire Bridge from South to North, and back again

[ Summit climb - 3.5 hours ]

  • The iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge is one of the world’s longest steel-arch bridges, spanning 500 metres and standing proudly above the sparkling Sydney Harbour. For many years, BridgeClimbers have scaled the south side of the Bridge only to reach that jaw-dropping Summit moment…until now. Going where no Climb has gone before, the Ultimate Climb is the most adventurous climb experience in BridgeClimb’s history, and we don’t say that lightly. The first of its kind allowing climbers to conquer the entire breadth of the legendary “Coathanger” from South to North, and back again.
  • Latching on at the Climb Base below the Bradfield Highway, you will walk below the road deck until you reach the South-East Pylon. There you will go up four ladders to the start of the upper arch. With the Summit in sight, your journey continues along the Bridge’s upper arch on the Opera House side until you hit the top. After a Summit celebration with your group, you will cross to the west side to make your descent to Climb Base.

Summit Insider Climb

Transport for NSW is commencing works on the inner arch of the Bridge from April 22nd 2024. To allow for this, we will be operating an alternate Climb route on the Summit Insider Climb for the next few months until this work has been completed. This will not impact the duration of the Climb and the alternate route is shown in the image below. It will give guests the advantage of being right above the road deck in the middle of the bridge for part of their Climb.

Climb Option 3：SUMMIT INSIDER A journey through the cathedral of steel, along the lower arch, to the Summit

[ Summit climb - 2.5 hours ]

Departure time: 9 am - 10 am  or 11 am - 12 pm

Previously known as the Summit Express Climb

Step-by-step (1,002 to be exact!) you will journey through the heart of the Bridge, a cathedral of steel, before bursting through to the Summit. As you ascend the lower arch you’ll be surrounded by beams of steel and the hustle and bustle of the traffic below, enabling you to appreciate the beauty in the Bridge’s construction and enjoy the 360-degree views that surround you.

This Climb allows you to get up close and personal with the Bridge and experience a unique inside perspective. The breathtaking views you’ll experience along the way will live long in your memory, as will the stories from your expert Climb Leader.

THE JOURNEY: Latching on in the Climb Base below the Bradfield Highway, you will walk on catwalks directly over Sydney Harbour past the South-East Pylon, until you meet the base of the Bridge’s lower arch on the Opera House side. Here you will commence your ascent as you rise to the peak of the lower arch. At this point, you will break through to the upper arch by taking a staircase to the Summit. After a Summit celebration with your group, you cross the spine of the Bridge to the Darling Harbour side to make your descent to our Climb Base.

BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT

To get here, catch a ferry, bus or train to Circular Quay. From here, walk along George Street until you meet the corner of Argyle Street (Guylian Cafe is on the corner). Take Argyle Street and when you reach the Argyle Stairs (next to Sake Restaurant), take these to the top to reach Cumberland Street.

From here, walk north along Cumberland Street. BridgeClimb is located on the western side of the street before the road snakes underneath the Bridge. Visit Transport NSW for public transport services.

BUSES AND COACHES

Buses and coaches are permitted to drop off and pick up on Cumberland Street between Essex and Gloucester Street. Visit the City of Sydney for more information.

Notices

  • Departure time varies from day to day. Please select your preferred session when booking, the precise departure times will be advised in your booking confirmation email
  • Please indicate your alternative session when booking. If your selected session is full, the nearest available session will be arranged
  • Children from the age of 8 to 15 (inclusive) are welcome to join their parents or guardians on the Climb of their life, provided they are 1.2 metres in height or taller. Children are the responsibility of an adult, with a maximum of three children per adult
  • This tour includes climbing high and steep stairs and passageways under various weather conditions. Climbers are recommended to evaluate their physical conditions before booking
  • By booking this product, you agree with the terms and conditions; refunds will not be granted to climbers with issues regarding the terms and conditions
  • Climbers are required to fill out a health declaration form on-site

  • *This climbing experience is not suitable for below who may be prevented from participating:
    • Climbers under 8 years old or under 120cm in height
    • Climbers who are over 24 weeks pregnant cannot Climb. Those who are under 24 weeks pregnant can climb with a BridgeClimb Certificate of Fitness
    • Climbers who have had a fit or seizure in the last six months
    • Broken bones

  • Reminders

    • Please arrive at the designated location 15 minutes before departure, as the tour will depart on time

    • The BridgeClimb experience will not be affected by ordinary weather conditions; refunds or rescheduling will not be granted to late arrivals or no-shows resulting from unsatisfactory weather conditions (e.g. rain, typhoon)

    • BridgeClimb is an all-weather experience. Climbers will be equipped with the gear climbers will need for the Climb, based on the day’s weather conditions

    • In case of extreme weather conditions like electrical storms or during times of extremely high wind, Climbs may be postponed

    • Climbers must wear closed rubber-soled shoes

    • Climbers must have a blood-alcohol reading below 0.05 to climb

    • For safety and security reasons, cameras, video technology and mobile devices are prohibited on the Climb. Lockers are provided

    • If climbers are wearing jewellery such as a watch, bracelet, or fitness device (E.g. FitBit), these will also need to be stored in the locker. Rings or small earrings are fine to wear

    • If climbers wear glasses or are climbing during the daytime and would like to wear sunglasses, please bring these with them and notify the BridgeClimb staff who will attach them to the climbing suit

    • Lockers will be provided, where climbers can safely store any bags or personal items that cannot be taken with climbers on the Climb

     

The bridge will be closed due to New Year's Eve fireworks on December 31, and climbing will not be allowed.

Photos: Individual/couple commemorative photos taken by the tour guide using a professional monocular camera during the climb are available for purchase. You can purchase various photo packages on the day of climbing the bridge, or purchase various souvenirs and photos after the climb.
